This is my 2010 Crewcab, Wife named this truck when we first got it. Its has served a few purposes over the years.
Truck started off as your average daily driver and as youll see in pics transformed, for about 18 months truck was a heads cam Procharged 5.3 on 12 psi...I made 540/545 to wheels.. Blower was over spun and It was loosing boost in higher rpms. The headunit was a P1sc with a 3.2 pulley, compression combo was around 10.2....combo ran 12.5@113 stock converter with stock 342 gears
It was a fun combo and enjoyed it but the procharger ended up eating itself from being overspun and towing, this go around I chose the route of my roots which is turbo.
So sit back and enjoy the build
heres a few pics of how truck currently looks

truck for suspension is 3" worth of lift up front, firestone airbags out back, 3/4 ton leaf springs, GMT800 lift blocks, rides on GM accessory wheels 20x9 with 35x12x20 rubber
Last winter I broke my 2nd 10 bolt so i ditched that setup and went with a GM 14 bolt,Tru-trac, tossed in 488s and used a TA girdle

Not shown but truck now has big brakes, it has 14" front rotors with EBC towing pads on front and I swapped to disks on the rear with Silverado SS calipers from Cocaine. It also has 14" rotors
Since im about trying to keep things clean I chose to install my Meth controller in a little pocket in my dash, since this pic was taken the knob is now black

Ill be limited to trans and fuel pump..probably in spring or summer im gonna do a dual pump setup then see how far this trans goes...should easily make 800-900rwhp with this turbo but probably gate it for 10 psi which should make 675-725 rwhp

For anyone that has been around a GMT800 truck and a GMT900 truck youll come to see theres a difference in the oil pressure between the two trucks, Gm thought it was a bright idea to swap in a pressure bypass to help keep oil pressure low. This has to be the dumbest thing around but with a DOD motor you need that control so since my truck is no longer DOD Ive removed the bypass and installed a plug

Well that will Def make for one fun and bad ass street machine. Looks good!
thanks, yea its not hard to make big power with a LS motor and with the mods I did to motor with correct turbo it would easily make 1000-1050 without breaking a sweat but dont care to turn this truck into a project
with high 6s low 7s I shouldnt have to worry about trucks on the highways, when it was a procharged truck at 500 tune I didnt have to worry then...this will be icing on cake for those coal rollers

Haha haha I personally love seeing a gas truck spanking on a disel. Usually unexpected which makes it even funnier. Is there any chance u could take 2 measurements off that turbo at the widest and tallest parts? That's theexact turbo I'm thinking about upgrading to and would like to see if I can fit it. Can't seem to find any exact measurements on the net.

Is your garage that small that the door is a few inches from your bumper? Or did you have the truck pushed back to have more work room up front?
George C

Truck is pushed back to work up front, i have a wall of toolboxes up front that serves as work bench...take all that into account the length of this truck and a typical 26x26 garage

Hydroboost conversion completed on a 1500
Had to use a 3/4 master that accepted 15mm nuts
Not all gm master cylinders use 15mm some are 13mm, regardless of 1500 or 2500 chassis
Only needed to merge 1 line for this conversion
With the 3/4 master i should now have much better control over my 4 wheel disks

ive logged about 60 miles so far on this truck in last 4 hours, heres what Ive found out. 10lb spring equals 7 psi, with 11* timing the Pcm is calculating right around 540/540 to wheels after deducting drivetrain loss... To reference my old combo made 540/545 on 12 psi and 18* using a 10pgh meth nozzle.
as for spool i can say depending on load ive heard the turbo make its unique sound by 1600-1700 rpms, Ive saw full spool by 3400 rpms. Boost is rock steady on this combo and is night and day different vs the old combo. Driving off boost is so much nicer
did some more calculations and seems as my compression is little higher then 10.8 and more around 11.1, with how its acting now I may just leave it at this power level and enjoy it. I was happy before and now making similar power with even less boost and less timing on 93 alone....The old combo when I was daily driving it only had 12* timing in it on 12 psi

Towed with this truck yesterday, pulled my enclosed with cocaine in it. Hands down out performed the blower setup. Truck held gears better, i never had to go over 3500 rpms..I was in full control of boost and kept it around 4 -5 psi by use of my foot. With this amount of load turbo lit was full tilt by 2100rpms..Power off boost made huge difference. Truck wasnt working hard what so ever.
Little over 14,000lbs combined weight... Round trip little over 100 miles

Got the catch can relocated to under the driverside of the cab..Wife always hated smell of vapors in the cab from being on pass side frame...with this location its still easy access to drain and routing of hoses are clean and hidden under intake cover then behind block

My truck is straight 4" and only sound it makes is the ear piercing whistle. I'm sure diesel and gas are different though.
