Long, long ago in a galaxy far, far away......I was a competition archer. Did my share of bow hunting but 3d shoots were my passion. But after moving away then coming back, having kids, etc I got away from it. Over the holidays my kids started seriously dabbling with some youth recurves that were in the man cave. Enough so that I now have my sara shooting my wife's compound and colt has a new compound coming Tuesday. Looks like I finally "have "to get back into the archery world.

The he garage is long enough for a 15yd range and I think we'll be spending a lot more time in there over the winter.

Nice!

Many many moons ago I shot as well. Every time I go to the rod and gun shop I stare at the bows and get tempted to get back into it.

Sweet. We did a lot of 3d's back in the day too. My dad shot with Randy Ulmer (sp?) back when we lived in Az. Only thing that has changed is now you need to remortgage your house to buy a bow and accessories to get started.

which is why I only look  between cars, guns and rockets there's scant free money for anything else.

I still shoot pretty regularly. Go to as many 3D's in the summer as time permits. Winter video league starts next week, look forward to it every winter. Bowhunting is my passion, cant get enough of it. Oct-Jan if im not at work im usually in a tree with a stick and string. If youre in the market for a bow I have a 2013 Bowtech Insanity that im selling.....

I was a contracted shooter for Hoyt for 10yrs. In that time I won four state titles, as high as third nationally several times and seventh in the IBO world rankings for a finger/fixed pin shooter. Still have a few of my bows around. Cleaned the dust off and getting them dialed back in. Not sure about my plans to upgrade yet. Have to get myself back in the groove before getting new equipment.

I ordered Sara's bow yesterday after making the post. Tonight we'll be in the garage shooting and I'm setting up a 10yd range in the house garage for them to shoot.

Dan. Take some off of his arrows! Arrow looks like a stabilizer.

I had about three dozen new Easton x7 2114's in a tube. Once I get him dialed in on form I'll swap arrows. These were just for the first night.

I remember being that age and shooting with my dad. That was a blast. Got a horrible case of target panic that had developed and the ONLY cure for me was a true back tension release. Taught me how to aim and push and pull.

I've got a 55# Martin X200 that I spent a good bit of time shooting lately.

I grew up on a recurve....still think I was a better shot with it over my compound.

Same day down the road I will probably get back into a recurve...Not much time for archery hunting these days!

Dan what kind of bow does your son have?

Dan B.

Velocity Archery. It's called the Race. Very well made. $139 for the bare bow. $189 as a package with sights, quiver, rest and two arrows. I got the bare bows since I have enough spare equipment to outfit them. The draw length goes from 19-29" and draw weight goes from single digits to 55#. My daughter is shooting a borrowed one from the shop until hers comes in tomorrow.

Cindy is converting. She's got a good start and had a good natural release.

Starting in a target league next week. Knocked the dust off my old target bow. Shot a 289/300 on Tuesday. First time out was pretty good. Went down again last night and just grabbed a target that was used....someone sprayed it pretty good. Wish I had grabbed a clean face to start with since I put down a 297 w/ 23x's. This was the last round. Think I'm ready to roll.

Five weeks into the league. First perfect 300. Only one so far from any of the shooters.
