I really like these cars, if I was in the market I would certainly give one a chance vs. a new Mustang.

What I don't get is how the american muscle cars can have a sticker almost identical to a near fully loaded BMW M235i which has similar performance and way better resale value.

Yeah, I would too. I like my poverty stripped Mustang better than it too. I just couldn't pay that kind of coin for a "non-specialty" Mustang or Camaro.

It does feel like a little musclecar (the BMW), just not quite edgy enough for me.

The 6th Gen SS is a good bit faster than the m235i in a straight line and I bet feels a ton quicker from the impressive low end torque the LT1 makes

Also the m235i base msrp is $44,150 and a limited slip diff is a $3,240 option. With similar options (heated seats, rearview camera etc etc) it's well over 50k. Starting to get into C7 territory there.

Oh and give it a little bit the 6th gens will be selling for well under sticker. :D

Ours was 49K and the LSD pretty much doesn't exist, didn't see one on the east coast with an auto when we bought ours. That being said, I have never driven a rwd car that needs one less. Almost don't notice it. C&D has the car running 12.9@109 so very similar to the Mustang but yeah the new Camaro is much quicker.

We got almost 5K off ours too, being rwd up here it sat on the lot forever.

And the torque it makes is incredible. Pretty much flat from 1200 rpm on up. Turbo 3.0L.

I have no brand loyalty. I'm all for any good rear wheel drive performance oriented car no matter the make. I like the new 2016 Camaro. I'm waiting to see what comes of the upcoming Barracuda that is rumored to be in the works and if the Challenger ends up on a lighter platform.
