I'm too upset right now to go into details, but here's the problem. I am now running AFR165's on my dart shortblock that has 1/2" head studs. The problem is the head bolt holes in the 165's are 7/16" thus they do not fit. These 165's are just a temporary fix, and they will be going on a stock (7/16") shortblock next year. What do I do??? I did a quick search on ARP's site and I didn't see a reduction style bolt to solve this problem as most people are doing the opposite and running 1/2" hole heads on 7/16" stock blocks.

Hey Paul, I'd give ARP a call. That would be a major PIA if you had to enlarge the holes in the heads to accomodate the 1/2" bolts. Maybe they do some kind of stud that reduces down to alleviate the issue your having.

Joe, that's exactly what I want to do, but I didn't see such a stud on their site. I will call them tomorrow. :(

From what I understand you have to drill them out. That's what the directions on my trick flow heads told me to do if I install them on a dart block or R block. Then when you go back to using the heads on a stock block you have to buy bushings ARP sells to fill in the gaps.

Performer Ford

Performer 50-state street legal heads provide outstanding bolt-on performance for 1965-95 289, 302 and 351 Windsor V8s. Capable of 300+ hp, the 1.90" intake valves are for use with stock pistons and the high-flow 2.02" intake valves are for use with aftermarket pistons notched for valve clearance. Will not accept rail rockers. Ford 289-302 V8s require Head Bolt Bushings.

here you go i knew i heard of this before

Thanks guys! I took them to my cousin's machine shop and drilled them all out to 17/32" per AFR's recommendation. I quickly tried putting the head on and it worked. I'll have to wait until my daughter goes to bed before I can really test things out.
