Gunna start a build thread but it's more like a rebuild. I got an 89 Fox hatch at the end of summer and decided it would be a better chassis to put my turbo stuff in. So decided to start taking it down after I took out the trans at the track rental. Here's the car.

Been working on the aprons gunna do a mostly smooth engine bay but can't figure out how to make the pics smaller lol. Once there done the motor is getting pulled out of the vert and shoved in there.

Thanks for the compliments fellas. I also like the classic drag lites. This will be 5 bolt swapped 4 wheel disks drag lites for track duty and pro stars for street fun.

Started welding the holes up on the passenger side tower and ran out of argon in the welder so I'll finish up tomorow and post a pic or 2

Haven't got to much done. Both towers are welded and in filler that's about it far as work goes. But did collect some parts smooth approns came in from lmr bought a 97 rearend for the disc brake set up took all the brackets off and sand blasted and painted them. I'm going to probly rebuild the calipers since there off. And going to do the cut and flipped brackets to keep stock length axles.

Got one apron in going to get the other one in this week. Picked up a moser spool 31spline axles and c clip elms a few weeks ago have the housing gutted and prepped taking it to have the ring and pinion set up next week. Also have the rear disc set up ready to go when the rear end gets back. Will post some pics later in the week.

Thanks it needs a lil more work but I wanted to get the bare metal covered so it didn't surface rust. Rearend is being built now 31 spline 5 lug all moser with a spool and eliminators. Gunna try to finish the engine bay this weekend and hope to pick the rearend up soon so I can get moving.

Ordered some more shit got a girdle cover for the rear 2 step all the manual brake stuff Griffin rad. Got the tubular suspension switched last week. Hoping to get some wrench time this weekend to swap motors.

Making slow progress with work. Rear is built 31 spline moser everything with spool and c clipp eliminators tubes welded. Torque boxes completely welded. Manual brake swap half way done with stedda adapter and ranger master. Motor is in but that where the fun ended the 88mm dosnt fit yet gunna have to massage the header a good bit. Will try to get pics tomorow.

Rearend and rear suspension are in rad and innercooler are in and the front clip is back on. Goes to a friend this weekend to have the header flange area redone because the bigger turbo hits the appron and he's going to redo the cold side for me as well so it enters the card at 6 o'clock instead of off to one side. Stay tuned when it gets back I'll post some pics..

Thank you I've always wanted to do a smooth appron setup and it just made sense with this car sence the engine bay needed stripped and painted anyway. It's needs more work but I was getting ancy and wanted to put the motor in so next time it's out I'll smooth the rails and a few outher things but I like how it turned out.

Ordered a manual rack for a Fairmont and u joint for the shaft. Also ordered a mm bumpsteer kit for a fox rack with sn95 arms hopefully everything works out. Parts should show up tomorow.

Got the rack and bumpsteer in the car. Got the new joint welded on the steering shaft for the manual rack. Painted the charge pipes gloss black and picked up the hood I was after off a good body of mine gunna have to do a lil trimming in the circled area for the charge pipe but I have an idea in my head that I think will look good.

We're a are u guys mounting ur fuel psi regulator on a carbed fox? It was mounted on the pinch weld of the fire wall on the other car but I'd like to make this car legal as I go. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Mine is mounted on the back side of the passenger shock tower. It passed tech @ Norwalk. No one has ever questioned that location. My Carbed Fox 408 Windsor runs my new best @ 10:28 @ 131 MPH.

That's were I'm thinking also. Just don't really like routing the fuel lines over the down pipe but that seems to be the best place and I'm pretty sure the way the rule is stated it's completely legal. Thanks for the reply.

Getting ready to start the fuel system. I have all the lines left over from the vert it's all Summit brand push lock. Would u guys reuse it or switch to true an line? I built the vert when I was broke hence the push lock but I never had a problem with it just wondering if I should take this as a good time to upgrade?

I would do the upgrade. I've had some problems with Summit brand products. Better to be safe than sorry.

Is this race gas only, any pump gas or E85?

that likely answers what you need to use. If race gas only,you may be fine.

With Pump gas and it’s ethanol, I’m not sure that anything not Teflon lined is a good thing. Have had several friends use the rubber lined hose with pump gas and ended up with fuel smell in their garages and trailers. I went with rubber lined hose because I only planned to use race gas. Last year full season and no issues.

Ended up scrapping the push lock after some inspecting it's so stiff and brittle it cracks when u bend it at all. So will be ordering new an line and fittings tonite.

Yea whenever the last guy did the engine bay the used the fender crease as a tape line and did the edge of the fender black for whatever reason. I just put them on to fit everything up and what not. Will be spraying that b4 the car is out. Been chipping away at it a little at a time. My son wrestles so don't have much time u till the season is over.

I still need to finish up the rad hold down aswell. It's stainless from were I work but must be super low grade bc it is getting surface rust on it.

I know exactly what you mean. Time is hard to come by. My son used to wrestle. Ha hasn’t for the last 2 years. It occupies a lot of time.

Where does yours wrestle at? Our season here just ended and wawa was last weekend.

What turned us away was the fact that my son (7 at the time) was put against 11 and 12 year olds. Kids clearly have a solid 4-5 years experience on my boy. Coaches were all tighter than skin on a dick and tried to let it happen. I charged towards a coach from the other team while stopping the match that my son was sure to get hurt in.

Long story short, that was the last day we wrestled. My son just turned 10 last Sunday.

I've seen some shady shit done but that's crazy. I'm amazed ur coaches let that happen. I'll be honest I'm a coach for our team and my first goal is to look out for the kids well being and safety. I don't play any games no matter who's kids I'm coaching. It's a shame that turned u guys away from wrestling but completely understandable.

The sad part of it all was there wasn’t even a coach there. The coaches are so full of their own kids that they didn’t really care about any others. They were too worried about watching matches of their child’s next opponent rather then being at the mat my son(or any other for that matter). It was sad.

Well it runs again. Bought a bigger wg I need to position and weld up. But atleast it runs lol. Wiring is done. 4 wheel disc swap done. Manual brake swap done just need to redo some brake likes.

Wow has it been a long time sence I updated this lol. Naturally the car still isnt done...... but all that's left is the cage and interior. Took it to Dave at dgr performance for a tune with the bigger turbo. Everything went well made 759 at about 6000. I'll try to post the graph.

Sbf 331 all good internals boss block eddy performer heads done by fox lake f303 cam vic jr out of the box csu 750 blowthru. B&g hotside cx racing intercooler and my buddy did all the hotside in 3". Ptc c4 with brake ad there converter and 355 in a semi built 8.8. Sorry been a while lol.
