I'm wanting to get a camera to mount on my car when I'm at the track. I know nothing about this. Advice, experiences, and suggestions would be appreciated. Also don't want to spend a fortune.

I use a GoPro3. It's a nice camera. They have a new GoPro Hero Session out that looks like a nice camera. Price is pretty decent. If you get it through BestBuy, you can get a no questions asked coverage on it.

There are also a few other cheaper brands out there. I haven't messed with them, but they look decent. Check out your local Walmart. They have been carrying their own brand of action camera that seems to be getting popular.

I have a go pro Hero session. The session is the smaller one. Cool little thing, pretty small.
My only gripe is that the video it takes looks like it is pretty far away due to the wide angle lens.

Buy a windshield mount for your smartphone... if you decide you're not getting what you want then get a GoPro.

Thanks for the input. The smartphone mount sounds like a good place to start. But my birthday is coming soon and the wife needs ideas. GOPRO or Race ramps or maybe a Hellcat. I hope she's been saving her money.

Not much of a decision if those are your choices!

I think she may have a budget to stay within. Nice to dream though.
