I Wired my fan to run on high all the time. What I did was use a 30 amp relay to do this. I went off an on/key wire that my electric water pump was on to get the fan to run on high whenever the key is in the on position. My electric water pump does the same.

Heres the problem. This worked fine for about a week but now the thing keeps burning fuses. Im using a 30 amp fuse. The fuse for my fan is extremely hot to the touch but the fuse for my electric water pump is not. I have no idea how many amps the fan pulls so I thought 30 amp would be enough.

Do I need to get a bigger relay and bigger fuse?

Thanks

Thats your problem. The fan is toast. They are nor designed to run all the time. Get a new fan and a fan controller. Or just get a thermo switch from the auto parts store, test it on a pot with a thermometer and use that. The fans only come on while sitting in traffic. Mine never comes on.

Did you run a designated wire from the battery to supply power to the relay?

The fan runs fine. It my inline fuse that keeps blowing. Could a bad fan cause this?

Could be drawing too much current.

Thats what i was thinking. Could it be drawing more than 30 amps?

why not just let the factory wiring control the fan? running a fan on high to long can cause premature failure of the fan and causing issues like your having.

I dont drive the car that much and im trying to keep it cool as possible. I just put in a 40 amp relay and fuse. See how this goes.

I think the factory relay was oging bad because the fan would fail to come on sometimes so thats another reason i wired it like this.
