I've really pushed these stock little engines for a long time, never hurt a short block until last Wednesday...............

I geuss I need to swap in another short block, headgasket was pristine, thank goodness my head is alright ;)

Thrust bearing was also pounded out of the little T3, almost .100 of axial play, .012 radial. God bless those little turbo's too :D

Heat and pressure :D I dunno, just boxed my injectors up to send them off to be flowed. AFR never moved, and I never heard it rattle. It was just making noise and smoking at the end of the night. One of my buddies had the same thing happen to his #3, we never did figure out the why, and it never did it again.

Oh well, I've got the shortblock from my old TC to go in this one and another T3 ready to bolt on. While i'm at it, going to install my line lok and 65mm TB this week. I probably wont make it for Saturday, but it should be running again next week.

I'm blowing off Carlisle and racing Saturday, a good chance it will be running for next weekend. See if I can hurt another short block ;)

I'll see if I can catch him this weekend, or Monica may have it written down at home.

Me personally, I love the 2.3 stuff, but I would NOT recomend one, especially a Merkur, for someone that is not an enthusiast, and able to do their own stuff. The 2.3 runs great when it sright, but is quirky about little things, and the Merkur was a quirk when it was built. Just my 02

One step forward, two back :( Picked up the old short block from my old TC last night, was cleaning it up tonight to go in tomorrow, and the #2 piston is dinked in this one too. Not as bad as the meltwed one in the car, but dinked none the less. GRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!! IO need to dig into the why on this, the head / intake are commong to both these cars, so there is something up.

I'm looking for short blocks guys, let me know of anthing you hear of!
