This one is new to me. Have a set of Hoosier QTP's on 15x10 welds on the back of my Camaro and just happened to notice the inner 1/4 of tread is down to cords while the rest of the tire is in great shape 1/2 to 3/4 of tread remaining. I've seen this on fronts due to alignment/ worn suspension issues , but never on the back tires of a solid rear axle car. Why did this happen?

Is the tire rubbing on something?

No. I'm starting to think the whole rear might be twisted a little. Going to do some measuring.

both tires or just one? If you did a burnout on pavement it may have grooved the tire or tires. I've done a burnout on a rough surface and grooved a tire like you described.

The one side for sure , it looked like the other as well. The guy I got this from did lots of burnouts on the street and drove everywhere on the QTP's.

Its because you put them on a GM product.

sounds like a rear toe issue but that's hard to have on a solid axle.

Measure side to side axle flange front, then rear. The measurments should be pretty much dead on. If there not then your toed in or out, depending on which measrument is shorter.

I had a 3" basanni cat back on one of my foxes (I think my 88LX). One of the tails took out a drag radial once. It was from going around a bend.
