Has anyone come across a roots style supercharger setup for the 99/01 cobras? Every kit I have found is marketed towards the 03/04 and labeled as an upgrade kit, or for the 05+. I called Kenne Bell and was told they don't make a kit for those years, BUMMER. So I was thinking,,,,,,, convert to an '03 setup and run the M112 for now. Then having all the upgrade options down the road? Is this just a bad idea or should I start collecting parts?
Any of you Terminator guys converting to a turbo soon?? :awsome:

Sheetmetal intake is the way to go. You will be way over 3k just to get stock parts for the swap. I've looked at just about every option for blower set-ups on 4 valves and it crazy how much used factory parts are. Spend $1500 for a used intake and blower, and another thousand in intercooler parts and fuel delivery. Add the cost of 03/04 used heads, and you have a stock cobra motor that is limited with a Eaton blower on top.

Taylor, I know what you mean about the cost of rounding up parts, but I dont see another way around this. But I will not be limited to an '03/04 cobra motor in the end. I have to decide what style power adder I am gonna use before I can order my shortblock:awsome:. Like I said, I am really liking the roots style charger but I wanna make sure it is a doable thing, reasonably, before I go that route. If I can't, then I wanna know NOW, u know.

I just picked up a Kb 2.6 for my truck and can't wait to run it. People are making close to 700 on the wheels with 2v heads. I can't wait to see what it will do when i put the 4v's on it.

Q: Can I easily bolt up the eaton m112 from an 03/04 onto my 99/01.
A: Well, yes and no. Physically it will bolt up, but its not that simple. You will need a lot of parts, such as the blower, the intercooler, the heat exchanger, the intercooler pump, the secondary blower belt bracket, the crank pulley and bracket, another tensioner, all the bolts and brackets, and a way to relocate the alternator. Its not an easy bolt on. It will work, and make good power, but by the time you are done (even if you get the blower for steal) you will be up to the cost of the vortech, and you will still have an inefficient blower that pushes nothing but hot air about 14 psi. Also, the instant boost from a roots blower combined with the 9.85 compression may be difficult to tune for and could be hard on the stock bottom end.

I guess someone at Kenne Bell doesn't know their own product line. I thought it was odd they had a blower for almost every other mustang combination. Thanx Jcelli. Looks like we are in the market for the same setup. :awsome:
Thanx Nate for the link. I am not considering converting my motor over to the '03 setup. I was thinking ahead as to how to end up with a roots style blower on my new setup, which is based on '99 wiring and motor configuration, mostly the ALT being up top the motor. Now seeing that Kenne Bell in fact has a setup, I guess I dont need to round up anything.
