I have seen references to upgrading the Mustang’s 9” drum to a truck 10” drum. I now have a set of 10” Ranger brakes from an 8.8 rear and was wondering how the conversion is installed. I would hope it is a direct bolt on conversion. Brake cables and all. But I can’t find any write ups on how to do it. Does anyone have a How To document or link for this upgrade?

http://mjbobbitt.home.comcast.net/mustang/4lug.htmlMatt's page has been a big help, but it only mentions that the conversion can be done (and that it would be better to go to disc) but not how to do it. I would really like to find a how to article.

That looks like another 4 wheel disc conversion. I was hoping for an article for converting the stock 9 inch drum brakes to 10 inch drum brakes.

take wheels, off. Take old brakes off. Take axles out. remove backing plate. Install new backing plate, Install new brakes, put wheels on.
