95 GT fan turn on

Ok, so I was going to put a 180* thermostat in the GT. I was thinking that the fan will still wait to kick on. How do I make the fan kick on at lower temps?

You mean 160* right? You would need to change the sensor.

buy a electronic fan controller from summit. I believe they are less than $40.00

you can wire it straight to a swtich.

wire a relay in that circuit if you run a switch... you don't want high amps going into the cab!

The only way I am aware of is via the EEC or by wiring up a fan switch via the CCRM. This involves tapping into the #17 (I'm 90% sure of this) wire on the CCRM. This wire is a ground and by running the switch to ground with the key in the on position the fan will run. The fan draws a large amount of AMPS, so if you run it with the vehicle off it will drain your battery in no time. The stock settings are over 215* if memory serves me right for the high speed "on" setting. I'm not sure how a fan controller would work unless you completely re-wire the fan and eliminate the EEC control over it.

Does your fan have the "recall" done on it? If you have it you will a breaker looking thing new the end of the plug where the wires go into the fan motor itself. Ford did this as a "band-aid" fix to a fire problem that occurred if the bearings seized up in the fan. If this happened without the breaker a fire would occur due to the large amp draw, with the breaker your fan is still toast but the power will be tripped.

I think on this one I will make it 180* just cause I will be driving it in the winter too.
