we had a fire in our building last thursday night. turns out one fo the front townhouse apartments was burning. steph and kyan went over to her grandma's house and i stayed at the place. we were only able to grab kyans things, his blankets and baby book.

fast forward to when they put out the fire. (this part pisses me off) turns out the lady who just moved in and is still moving things in, she left her 10 yr old daughter home alone playing video games while she went to the bar.

they had an air conditioner, tv, vcr, ps2, and a heating blanket all plugged in. somehow something caused the fire to start on the bed. it totallly destroyed the room.

our place is fine...it was a lil smokey and with kyan, plus steph being asthmatic we went to her mom's house for the night. got there around 1:00 am. Luckily there is nothing wrong with our place as we were far enough away. and there is a fire barrier built in between the front and back apartments. but unfortunatley not the sides. the people directly across from the fire got a little water damage to their kitchen, but very lucky thats all that happened. the farmington fire department did a great job getting there fast (all of two buildings away. lol) and was able to put it out before it spready anywehre else other than that one bedroom.

now i am glad i was wearing my own boxers. LOL, cuz i was sleeping on her mom's couch, using her sis' blanket and pillows, wearing her grandma's husband's shirt. i ran out wearing only my boxers and a pair of soccer shorts.

anyways i went back today to shower and go to work...and they already in there working....id still like to pimp slap that damn bitch.

lesson learned: called state farm and got renters insurance.

anyways....back to sitting here. leaving for the beach on sat morning...vacation all week, then start my new job on monday the 30th.

I'm glad you guys are all ok. They say the smoke is the worst part. I've been lucky and have never had a fire. At least you got the insurance now. Can't believe that woman. Some people have no common sense.
