just installed a new cobra upper and lower, matching throttle body and a 1" riser and the car pulls harder but idles like crap(very choppy, shakes the car badly) and the exaust fumes are so strong I need oxygen to work on it. Checked all vac lines 3 times, and cleaned the iac and set the tps to .9 volts. Any ideas??????

WOW, the box is not broken but the plug on the bottom was totally disconnected!! Its too late to fire it up because my neighbors are crabby but I hope this has something to do with it. What is it?? Thanks coral:pinkthumb:

:hissyfit: Well, after pluggin the map sensor in the car still will not idle. Checked all vac lines + pcv and all are ok 40-45 lbs gas press at the motor. pulled 1 plug to check for carbon and it was normal. Yesterday I ran the car hard with the map sensor off, I hope I did not damage anything. The raw fuel smell went away so that problem is fixed, and it runs great through the gears but just will not idle. I also disconnected the battery overnight to reset the computer. Any suggestions?? I have pulled out all my hair and my wife is ready to divorce me(might not be a bad thing)

I had an 88 LX that I did that with. I broke the MAP sensor though. It took a tune up and some driving to clear it out. I ran the car to work after I did that, I was on the highway so I didnt notice it untill my tank of gas was almos gone  . When I pulled off, the car idled like it had a big cam.
