the only good thing i think with the R title is i wouldn't be afraid to drive the wheels off that car.
the R title kills collectibility and value on it though, and you would have to look it over to make sure previous repairs were done right.
the red with black interior is a rare combo
there was an older guy in his 50's who used to go to cruises when i had my teal 93, i remember him telling me his car was an R title, same color combo...may be its his?

psp is right...it was called vibrant red...and it does look more orange then red...esp sinse you had a laser red car before...the 93 wont look red to you at all! haha

the 93 cobras vibrant red looks orange to some and red to others...its all in what ya want to see really...

car looks decent in those pics...might be worth checking out? let me know what its like if you do go see it...

would it be your daily driver?

reason i say is because there is an orange 93 cobra fake in scottdale that some guy owns and it was wrecked then fixed thats why i asked.

I must say that i strongly disagree with your point of view. Maybe i'm taking it to the extreme but your saying basically that just because the car has an R title (a piece of paper with a funny letter) that you would write the car off as being something a person should pamper or take care of? I don't know about the rest of you, but I'd rather have something that looks the same at half the cost. As you might assume i have owned a few R title cars in my day :) I just think some of these cars get R title unfairly, case in point my last GT which was totalled because the value of the car isn't worth what it really should be according to kelly blue book. And don't even get me started on how much bullshit it is R titling cars that have been stolen. Didnt mean to jump on you pspstang, just trying to throw in some 2 cents. :) <--- this makes this post ok.

It's the same car that came from Huffman's several years ago. I know about how it was put back together also .

i dont know this for sure, but i think he was taking it to the point as in re-selling it. that is how i took it not sure how it wanted it to come off, because no matter what a r-title car will never get as much as a good titled car. But i see where you are coming from bceause i feel the same way. I would actually take a look at this car if i was into foxes still, but when looking at a car i really dont look at the title. that is one of the last questions i ask about. The r-title really, to me, is a price bargainer...

I do not know this for a fact. bUt i am pretty sure it was in the rear.. The guy did the work himself. he lives over in scottdale and the car sat in a garage for something like four years i think and rarely ever came out.

i'll throw my 2 cents back as well.
have owned quite a number of r title cars, in fact my 95 Trans Am was a tow in from my friends business never claimed, abandoned and got a R title brand with no accident.

Plain and simple when it comes time to sell them, everyone wants to beat you to death over the price over that little letter on the title...and dealers won't touch them for a trade in unless you take pennys on the dollar from them.
I am cringing for the day when i do sell it because even with new paint and the fact it looks excellent i will have to sell to a private party who will use the "letter" on the title as a bargaining token.
I just keep using it as much as possible to get my use out of it.

If its a car you plan on keeping for yourself till it dies thats one thing but for resale and trade ins they are a bad deal

The rear clip was changed but, I'm not sure who did it. The rear end was bent and it was staightened at a place in Johnstown. I never was shore of the name of it. It was painted in Connellsville.

Scott you're right he never drove it much. Same with the SVO that he had. He lost interest in the SVO after buying the 93'. I'm not sure why he lost interest in the 93. I have my thoughts of the reason.

I was thinking about it today at work. I'm pretty sure the rear clip was done at Pleasant Valley Auto out RT 982 (by Bullskin Fairgrounds).

This was not the one with the silver/gray stripes over the top. That one has been setting covered in a garage down the road from Scottdale. This guy has a 73' Mach 1 in the garage also.

Do you guys know if the motor is all stock? It looked like the stock exhaust all the way back to me.

As far as I know it is all stock, he bought stuff to put into it and never put it on.

I've only had one R-title car, and I had what I thought was really good luck at resale time. It was an '87 GT convertible - charcoal gray with the gray leather, 5-speed, black top. It looked sweet because the guy repainted it all charcoal - ground effects too - so it looked like the 90+ fox cars. It had 80k on it ( this is back in '98? ), and I paid $6500. I drove it for 3 years and put 22k miles on it and sold it, at 105k miles, R-title and all, for $5,600. Not sure if I got lucky there or not, but I felt pretty good about it. So - PSPstang - maybe you'll do ok when the time comes to sell - in the meantime, just have fun with the car!!:)

I feel like a lot of you folks - I'd rather get a nice car for less because of the R-title. If it's fixed right and it's going to be my driver I would actually look for another R car next time vs a clean title car for a bunch more $$$. I'm not a collector, so the title doesn't really concern me. My Mustangs might appreciate in value, but that's just gravy for me - I own them to enjoy them!! :goodidea:
