was on rte 51 headin towards uniontown on tuesday morning to get my new helmet and jacket from millers when a burnt orange 07 Z06 pulls up next to me in perryopolis. Like a true young vette owner he started his shit right from the get go. light went green and he took off, i eased out in 1st and cracked second, blew by him shifting into third and never looked back, he must have been at least 15 to 20 behind me by the time i hit 155. I just dont understand why they try!
well.. any 'enthusiast' would know that it's like taking a stick to a gunfight....
more than likely either a rich snob(male paris hilton, ugh) who got it because it was "nice" or just a plain ole dumbass who just doesn't know any better....:spank:

if your bike was stock then it would of been closer but by looking at the pics of your bike you cant tell its boosted. so its not stupid on the drivers behalf its just that your boosted and not equal

even if the bike was stock the car would never have a chance, i think it is foolish on the drivers part, lets face it, there are very few and i mean very few cars out there that are gonna keep up with a crotch rocket thats a 750 or better.

i agree with quik... a ls7 would probably track down most riders on a 750 or even a couple year old litre bike... read, i said MOST riders... i honestly dont feel most guys riding litre bikes can run them to their capability - they just bought it to be a poser....
i honestly don't see the purpose for a turbo on a busa either.... although, i'm sure it gives you the ride of a lifetime in a straight line:goodidea:  and the scare of a lifetime in a corner

I agree here. I bought my GSX-R 1000. I had quite a few bikes before that one. I just wanted something bigger. It was completely unnessasary. That bike should not even be allowed on the street. Riding it to its full potential, not a chance. Thats impossible. That bike has way too much to offer. As far as the busa, My Gix would smoke them outta the gate. The busa is heavier than the Gix and the handling is not up to par either. Its just a straight line machine basically. Then these knuckle heads go and boost them. Kinda pointless if you ask me.

OK OK calm down, your right, it is not necessary to boost a busa but at the same time it is a fun bike to ride and it is a very streetable application. if a rider knows how to ride yes most bikes will crush cars, if they dont then no they wont beat them, the pure fact is, to each his own, is it necessary to have an 800hp mustang, hell no but you do it anyways for the love of the car and the hobby right, so lets chalk it up to personal interest and time and call it good.

Exactly! You didn't need to explain yourself, most of us got it. Besides, it was 'Vette boy who tried his luck.
Good kill!

thanx i thought it was a good kill too, nice car though, great looking sounded sweet as hell. i give that ls7 all the props in the world, my 99 7R would have lost probably, or been really tight. but gorgeous car none the less

id be willing to bet that the z06 could have taken you if he wanted to or at least kept up, and yes, i know a whole hell of a lot about bikes....

My man, I am calm. HAHAHA I also agree there too. It is fun. Its just a shame we dont live in Montana where we could use the power.

from the road test in AUTOMOBILE magazine online
"How does 0 to 60 mph in 4.1 seconds sound? A 12.0-second quarter-mile at 124 mph? Top speed of 198 mph? Redline at 7000 rpm? Not a shabby statistic in the bunch, especially for those of us old enough to remember the 1975 model year and Corvettes that reluctantly scaled the peaks of feebledom just long enough to deliver their pitiable maximum allotment of 165 hp at 3800 rpm. To those who would question the forward direction of man's technological progress, we point to the Z06 and rest our case. To those who would argue that pushrod, two-valve technology won't a sports car make, it is time to re-check the facts.
Actual top speed in the manufacturing validation examples of the Z06s we drove was not 198 mph but rather an electronically limited 191 mph, it pained us to learn. But as it turned out, we never had a chance to see the wild side of 160 mph, anyway. Out on the track, we were busy trying to learn the racer's line through strange corners. So consumed, we braked late, we braked early, and we generally clung to the inept journalist's line (also known as the loser's line) through the twisties, instead of worrying about going as fast as humanly possible down the straights. If we had been smarter, which is to say stupider, this would have been our chance."
...
here's the kicker from the article...and this is the 06'...
"The new Z06 costs $65,800, which undercuts all of its possible high-end competition at home"..
i think that i'd still take the busa in this case...sounds like it's the 'tits'.

there stock z06s with drag radials on it running high 10s.... alot of busa riders hit 11s. so yes a fair race. i ran several busas on my RR. i would mph them all day long at PRP. i even beat a few as well in et and that was i only had my RR a few months. there are plenty of cars out there that can walk a 750+ bike. it takes a good rider to get a bike to actually beat a modded or topline car and not to mention the turbulance encounterd from a car is hard to over come in some situations
not doubting the turbo busa at all, but if you were stock busa i wouldnt think twice of running a busa with a C6ZO6

Nice kill.
I agree with both sides to an extent. Modern SS bikes for the most part are pretty damn quick. I owned one for years. Yes, most riders can't ride modern SS's to their potential. But then again, top line car owners usually can't drive them to their full potential either. I've seen poor performances out of C6's and Z06's at the track as well. I've also seen a relatively stock 600RR strapped down run a 10.9 at PRP. My almost bone stock '03 636 ran an 11.1 @ 125 in 80 degree weather at PRP with a pretty piss poor 60ft.
Its all subjective to the rider and driver and whats done to each vehicle but the bike usually has the upper hand.

i somewhat agree... i think its fine to own a 1000 if your ability calls for it... i've rode several new 600's and 1 newer gix 750 and they sorta left me calling for more and glad as hell to have a litrebike... i just think that most guys that have litre bikes do it for the preception - i guess hoping that all the chicks and other posers out there don't notice their 2" chicken strips... i mean come on - learn how to ride first before you step into the big-dog territory
and Cobra, i'm in no way dogging your bike.. liek i said, i'm sure that its the most insane ride out there, but i'm just one for doing the twisties and turns... and when u stretched the swingarm, you absolutely butchered the handling on that bike...
on a side note, i did ride a turbo gsxr 600 one time.. i've never ever felt something sooooo DEAD just absolutely snap.. and bam, the front wheel is in the air:D

HAHA This just made me think of a kid I used to be friends with. He had an '02 gix750. That thing had 2" strips on it. Well, last summer he sold it on ebay and bought an '04 1K. He said he loves it. I saw it a few months ago. He had bigger strips on it and cords showing in the center. He falls into your category of posers. That is exactly what he is. Shit, he could not even rine the can-o-tuna he had for a first bike. But he is quick to say that he has "hit" 180 on it. Whoopie shit bud. Is what I say. Its people like him who make a bad name for us riders who truly love riding. I am sure sooner or later we will be washing him off the road somewhere.

your completly right when i stretched the bike i killed the twistie ability but i also have the 750 to fall back on which gets most of the seat time, i love gettin out and railin corners to, the busa was a gorgeous bike and my eyes snapped to it when i saw it on ebay, its a no doubt primarily a str8 line bike and a twisty cruiser, i love it though, it's fast, clean and fun to ride, i would like to maybe someday bring the swingarm back into stock, see what this thing can really do. Good thread though, lots of good points and opinions made by all, and i agree it comes down to the rider or driver of the respective vehicles.
