Every day for about the last week I've been having trouble getting my car started in the morning. It will turn over all day and not even try to start. The only way I can get it started is by leaving the key on and eventually I'll hear the fuel pump kick on again completely random and then it will start. After it starts it may shut down and I just wait to hear the pump kick on again. I've tried wiggling all wires and taping relays and everything I can think of. Its becoming a real pain. It would almost sound like the fuel pump but every time a turn the key off and try it again the fuel pump turns on as normal. Any Ideas I'm going crazy:duh:

Does the pump prime if you keep turning the key on and off?

Well, I don't think wiggling wires and tapping relays will work to trouble shoot it. Start checking voltages when trying to crank.

Change your fuel pump. I have a 155lph on the shelf.

I'm going to need to take my vantage home with me, since it only does it in the morning after that I can drive all day.

That's strange cause it hasn't been cold in the morning for a while now.

It will take us 25-30 min to do if you run the car low on fuel. I do it to EVERY Mustang I buy. I had the same symptoms as your car back in the day with an 88GT. Nothing is worse than thinking all is good and then the pump dies on ya! Luckily the young lady I took out let me stay with her until the morning. :slaphappy: :slaphappy: :slaphappy: :slaphappy:

Its getting weaker and taking longer to build pressure. It is going to die.

And I a assuming that you have a clean fuel filter.

Honestly, It looks good but I know that does not mean anything, I have a new one waiting to go on soon as I can get my car in my shop. I thought taht might be the problem but it just seemed electric

That is what most of them do - that is how they go. They are weak to prime (may need to cycle the key) and they also run out up in the RPMs. These Ford pumps rarly just die, they do what you are discribining first.

I cycle the key 5 times or more and does not start.

Well keep me posted. If it is the issue, I have a 155lph with about 15k on it here. I will install it for $100 pump included.
