Does anyone have any or know where to get electrical diagrams and/or location diagrams for a 2000 Expedition? Need mainly anything to do with powertrain control.

The problem is sometimes when you go over 3000 RPMS and even lately just when hitting the throttle, the voltage gauge will jump to the red and the engine will start to detonate and will run like shit. So maybe a charging system diagram, then one with the PCM and all the basic sensors (TPS, etc.). If there is any other diagrams or advice you think I might need, be my guest. I'm going to start messing around with it to see if I can find the problem next week to see if I can find the problem when I have access to a multimeter and the vehicle.

Well did some research and it looks like the 2000 expeditions had problems with a leaking front windshield that let water drain down to the fuse box and short out the GEM and also mess up the gauges and transmission which happens on occasion with ours. Found out everything can get fixed for low low price of about 1500. Why Ford will not recall the trucks again to fix it who knows. If i new how to replace a front windshield seal with windshield and new what all wiring to replace i would just do it my damn self

Knew it had to be something along those lines if it was only happening every once in a while.

i would start out by putting a dc-volt meter on the battery and rev it up and check to ensure that it isnt charging past 14 volts dc. reg could be bad in the alternator

was going to do all the basic tests when I got a hold of a multimeter. Think it was a little bit more complex of a problem than just a bad regulator. Don't think that would make the engine detonate.
