Alignment?

Well, my car ate my front tires, litterally, i got steel showing on the insides...

Anyway, I need a 4 wheel alignment for my Cobra, and want to take it to someone that knows what they are doin, and can deal with a lowered car like mine.

Anyone have any suggestions on places to go thats not far from me (Blairsville) or any tips for me to do it myself? The car drives straight, it just needs the camber adjusted, and Ill be installing MM C&C plates too.

What year Cobra?

My one piece of advice is don't necessarily pay for a 4 wheel alignment. Most alignment machines check all four wheels and 99% of the time it's only the front end that needs adjusting. Simply pay for a front wheel alignment at a recommended shop...a trust worthy mechanic will tell you if the rear needs adjusted (if it can in fact be adjusted). Alot of vehicles can't be adjusted on the rear end and thus if you pay for a 4 wheel alignment...you've just been had!

P.S. I am not familiar with IRS Cobra's but would assume some adjustment capability on the rear.

YES. There is adjustments for the rear. The bolt for the upper control arm, where it meets the spindle, is an eccentric bolt. And the toe-link bars are adjustable as well. I would install the CC plates and get a 4-wheel alignment. As 383taman for directions to his shop!:awsome:

Thanks guys. Yeah i need to get the CC plates definately, and ive already played with the rear alignment because of diff issues (I marked and lined it back up, dont worry lol) But it needs it, the car was dropped and never aligned, and well, it only took not but 6000 miles to destroy the front tires that had half tread left, and thats no hard corners either.

Ill be ordering new tires tomorrow...

I had the same problem. I took mine to Marc at Shultz Ford near Cranberry because he is one of the best SVT tech's around and I trust him. Plus he owns an '03 cobra. It would be a little bit of a haul for you but to have it done right the first time is well worth it IMO.

I might do that, I got tires coming to me. Ordered them today for the low low price of $980 (all 4 KDW's to my door) :duh: But, thats cheaper than anywhere else, with a small discount. :awsome:

Now I just need the CC plates, and maybe just drive it down to Shultz, and get it all fixed up. I may not even worry about the rear since uh, I got issues with rubbing.

Anyone want to sell their ISO's? I need them.
