Well I broke down and went with a Track Heat intake to go along with my Trick Flow heads. So with having to pull my GT-40 intake I think it would go a good time to swap out the e-cam that's in her now. My question is what cam should I go with?? Right now I'm leaning towards the trick flow stage 1 cam, but looking for other possible options. One thing to remember my car has a newly rebuilt stock short block(all ARP'ed) with stock pistons so I'm limited on the cam I can run with the big valves that I have. One other thing this is a street driven car that has an AOD. Or do you guys think I should just stay with the e-cam?? Thanks for any advice!!

Trick flow stage 1 are s**t, go with a comp cam, or if you really wanna do something get a custom from Jay, Ed, or Buddy.
I used Jay and was very happy with his products & service.
You have a nice set of heads, now get a nice cam to go along with them.

i have to disagree with that. trickflow cams are very good cams with a mild to stock motor. i had a tfs1 cam in a stock 92 gt and it ran good. i built a 306 and went with the tfs 2 cam and i really like it too.

Show me a fast car 9-10 sec. car with a trick flow stage 1 cam.
Its a cast core that cant handle any descent spring rate thats put to it.
If you wanna put this in a 12-13 sec. car with no substantial valve spring rate then you'll be fine to probably 5500-5600.
By saying your cars ran good, what hp #'s and e.t. & mph's #'s do you have to back that up?

i said with a stock or mild motor these cams work good. of course theyre not going to be good if your going for 9s or 10s. the car with the tfs 1 cam was all stock with an edelbrock intake and it went 13.40s with a spinning 2.0 60 ft. the car with the tfs 2 cam with tfs tw heads, edelbrock intake and 4.10s runs 12.1x untuned. in my book this isnt bad. i also have a 347 car but it doesnt have any tfs stuff on it. it run high 10s on motor

What rear gear and stall speed?

I have 3.73's in her now. If it matters the AOD I have has the 2.80 low gear set in it. The stall speed is supposed to be around 3,200rpm. I was thinking about installing 4.10's but she's spinning the tires pretty good off the line now with the 3.73's and my street tires. Main goal for this car is a street driven car that fun's and will be taken to the track very rarely since I have a purpose built drag car to beat on.
Oh and remember like I said I'm really limited on the cam lift and duration due to stock pistions and the valve size of the trick flow heads. Oh and she has a NOS big shot nitrous kit on her with a 150hp shot that's never been sprayed. I plan on putting it back on, once I buy a matching plate for the intake.
