average price of lt header install

im wondering how much it would cost to get long tube headers installed with a shorty xpipe. i have shorties an x on now but im craving that lt sound etc. just wanted to know whats a ballpark that shops charge to get this done thanks

so longtubes would only take about an hour?? holy shit i got ripped off when i first had mods i didnt know where to go i went to RPMS out warrendale man i cant believe it takes an hour an they took 9 hours an ripped my ass off.

i paid 4 hours install on headers, mid-pipe, and cat-back...the car was actully at their shop for 2 days but they took their time and worked on it in between other jobs that they had going on...

9 hours is unreal...

so longtubes would only take about an hour?? holy shit i got ripped off when i first had mods i didnt know where to go i went to RPMS out warrendale man i cant believe it takes an hour an they took 9 hours an ripped my ass off.you are getting very cofused so to answer your exact question it's hard to say how long. you never know what your going to run into when you start taking the car apart. you also never know what problems you may have with the new product, especially when your dealing with low quality parts from company's such as bbk and mac. i have seen shops charge as much as $800 for long tube installation. i personally have never had any bolt-on type header install come close to 9 hours so i hope you didn't have to pay for that!!! estimating is very difficult, most shops lean toward the high side and if they beat the time they pocket the money...if it takes longer they charge you. i don't do either:awsome:

Hell I installed my long tubes in my garage having my car on jack stands and it only took me about a day...

Since the easiest way to change headers is to drop the k-member it will take 4 hours at least.
