After almost a year of the sixxer being down and out with a destroyed rear end and no inspection/emissions, everything is back in working order. So last Wednesday I took off a day of work to head to SGS Performance in Dillsburg, PA for some dyno-tuning. I had known that the base tune I got from Andy was safe enough to drive around a little with but dynotuning was really essential. Between 2000 and 4000 rpms I was seeing an A/F as low as 9:1 and above 5500 rpms it would go lean. The guys at SGS were awesome and Dave, their SCT tuner, is great at what he does. He fixed my idle immediately and adjusted my A/F to 12:1 all the way up through my cut off at 6200 rpm. From the base tune I gained 37 rwhp and 24 rwtq - up to 375 rwhp / 345 rwtq. :)

Very sweet. I like how that turbo fits your set-up. Also glad to see you have it back together ;)

Here (http://www.turbobygarrett.com/turbobygarrett/catelog/Turbochargers/GT35/GT3582R_714568_1.htm) is basically the turbo I have. I have the 1.06 A/R.

VERY nice turbo!! you got another 125-175 horses in that turbo no question!
That turbo is popular with the SRT crowd. Its basically the biggest turbo that you can bolt in without having to "convince" the firewall you really want it in there. It can make very nice power numbers on the 2.4 DOHC engines in the neon

Yeah, I wanted a turbo that was pretty efficient and decently sized for my engine. It turned out pretty well I think. Plus whenever I decide to upgrade my internals and fuel system, more power is a change in boost away since there's still a lot more room to grow, so to speak.

you're on stock internals?!?! I thought you upgraded pistons/rods?

Nah, I should be good for a little while. The 3.8 block is very tough and the internals seem to hold at this power level. Most people I know of with a turbo are running 12 psi on their stock internals. I went with 10 to be on the safe side. I also knew I'd be able to make up the power loss since I supposedly have the 4.2 block, my heads and intakes are ported and I have a different cam. I mean, I sorta planned the setup according to what my goals were... more or less. :hyper:

Wow... thats good information to know. If I decide to go the 3.8 route its nice to know that a rod and piston change just to be on the safe side will get me north of 400hp without issues.
Im making a decision shortly so when I get into town in less than 2 weeks I'll make a purchasing decision and get things underway. :goodidea:

Sounded good man. That run took a lot less time that the last time I saw you on the dyno :) You up for some PRP action later this month? I was thinking about hitting up one of the last few tnt nights.

Yeah, I hope I can make it to at least one more... I'll be in vegas Oct. 21 - 27 though so those two saturdays are gone for me.

I would say the 28th then as of now. That way if we plan on that day and it gets rained out then there are still two more to possibly go to.
