Well I took the advice and went to Kauffmans yesterday. Overall, I am very happy with the results since they fixed the hanging idle and stalling problems. Those guys seem to really know their tuning. I am still puzzled by why the car stopped making power at 5200 rpms. The power was up by 9 over my June numbers, but once again it stopped at around the 5200 level. SOTP the car felt excellent driving back from Kauffmans. I did a compression check and all 8 were around 155. I am beginning to believe the cam may be the problem. Kauffmans seemed to think that changing the cam and going to long tubes would get me to 350/360 at the tires. The TFS stage 2 cam is more of a 302 based cam and is a mismatch for the 347. Anyone care to comment?

I installed a BBK 75mm throttle body, 6.300 pushrods, new Ford distributor and ignition control module.

Did you install a new ignition box?
335rwhp & 359rwtq is pretty damn good if you ask me!!
You Have more than enough power to get into the low, low 12's and maybe the high 11's.

I installed a NOS Ford ignition control module and NOS Ford distributor. I found them cheap on eBay. The car runs great and the turnpike drive back from Kauffmans was quite a rush at 105mph up the 3 mile hill into the tunnel. Overall, I am very happy with the way it runs - it is just a bit lower than expected based on what I have read and heard. Now if I can get rid of the driveline vibration above 70mph, I think I will be done for a little while. The good news is the vibration does go away at 95mph.:goodidea:

Cam is 302 part in 347 for sure. Ditch it. Comp XE282 works well in 302 based strokers.

 I did that in my Cobra coming back as well. Never dropped below 110 the entire way up the hill. Went into most of the turns at 140 and came out at 115. :hyper: :hyper: :hyper: It was a blast!

The only thing that was more fun was listening to the Eaton screaming thru the tunnels at 150 with the top down!

I can't even hear my exhaust over the Blower with either the top up or down. :hyper:

The only thing I miss about the Eaton is the sound, the whipple is a bit too quiet.

Looks like the headers and cam are holding you back.

Update that and the numbers should come around. Yeah 335 rear wheel is what I would expect out a 306 not a 347.

Good luck

No major updates on the car. I cleaned the IAC motor out with Brakecleen and the car idles much smoother now. I plan to get rid of my Bassani x pipe and put on a h pipe - the x sounds horrible IMO. I also plan to put some Magnaflows or Flowmasters on it in the spring. The car will be put into storage this week at a friend's garage - that will be it for the season. Any plans for mods to your car?

I posted a picture of my car in the pix post in the pics/videos section. I was at the Lowes cruise in Cranberry this past Sunday.
