Im tryin to figure out what heads i should use with my new setup
I gonna be using Dart iron 302 block with forged internals 327 stroker with .125" over bore which should bring about 347 or so and it will be internaly ballanced
I didnt decide to what size of turbo and what kit i wll be using but it will be something big, cam will be custom
It wll be backed up with TKO500 tranny
Goal is 700HP on 93 octane but final goal is 4 digit HP
So what heads would be better TFS TW Rs or AFR 205/225
On my curent set up i have TW and i love TFS stuff but i'm not really sure which way to go
Thanx
And please guys i didn't make this topic to start war TFS vs AFR, so lets not go there

if you want 4digits its going to take a good bit of motor and turbo to produce that. Either set of heads will do good. for the bragging rights you can go AFR but your main concern is the thickness of the deck they provide.
if your actually shooting for 1xxx RWHP then look into a similar turbo as i have.

can be had for a fair price. its capable of 1250hp and is the typical size turbo for goals. now not sure on the rpm range youll want to encounter, ill be still spinning 7k max. not sure if that motor of yours will be capable or not. some will say 8.1, 8.5 for compression. 9.1 i safe and will better help you make the power. also with te higher compression your ll have more user friendly power and not be running as much boost and not max'in the turbo as much. with that high of compression you oculd even go 9.5 but you may want to consider meth to aid in keep IATs down along with using it as a fuel supply.
for a more reasonable goal of 8xx or so then i would look into a 76mm turbo.

If your goal is 4 digit power and plan on a 4.125 bore why not build a 7.0L? Seems like that would be a much more reliable way to make that kind of power without having to spin crazy rpms or go too high with the boost.

Today i talked with Rick from RNHPerformance www.rnhperformance.com (he will be building my motor) and he suggest to go with either TFS Rs or AFR 225s, also he suggest to stay with 327 stroker but go with .125 bore which would bring up to 347
Now i have to figure out which of those two heads i gonna use

Are you getting rid of you old tfs heads? If so I am interested.

Either of the heads RNH will get you to your goal easily. Take a look at Mikeymustang's car and truck. Both of these have a motor like you're thinking about. He's running the cnc 205 TW heads, not the R model. A boosted 700 hp motor should be a walk in the park with either of these heads you're considering. Hell, the AFR 205's or the TW 205's will make the power you're looking for. Although, if you start with the larger 225cc heads you'll have plenty of room to grow and you can probably run less boost.
Don't get hung up on a big cam with a boosted motor. Go custom from Ed Curtis or Jay Allen. Turbo cams are smaller than you'd expect. A 76mm turbo will make more than enough power for you.
I've heard good things about RHN from killercanary and others.
Good Luck
