Had the car out for the first time on Friday with the solid axle.

1.54 60ft 10.75 @ 129.6

Whipple 19 PSI
Stock Manifolds with a Catted X.
Miller Race Cars Anti Roll Bar.
28" Slicks
Stock front suspension with stock wheels.

The car definitely has a 10.6 in it with a little harder launch.

Well the new best time is great, but unfortunately I hurt the tranny.

I was getting what sounded like gear wine and some vibration on the way home.

After some trouble shooting I found the output shaft is bent like a banana. I am surprised it didn't break.

Well I am working on my auto plan now.

Nice time!:goodidea: Sorry to hear about the T56, but if you put an auto in there that would be :ghey: Real men shift gears.

Breaking the OS isn't common is it? I have never heard of it happening that I can remember?

Cluch pedals are stock on Cobra's... it would look kinda silly with it missing one.

I know but it takes a WHOLE lot less talent to drive an auto.

Not really after a little searching I have found a few have snapped. I didn't break mine I just transformed it into a screw instead of splines.

Awesome time...

I see you picked up some mph since your previous best...

What was your 60' with your previous best on IRS?

1.59 was the best on the IRS and I picked up about 2 MPH on the 28's compared to running 28's on the IRS. I am running 3.73's in the solid axle.

My best run was leaving at 5000 RPM. I feel the car could have gone 10.6 with a little harder launch. Well I know it would have broke the output shaft if I had an additional run.

Not sure. I may get a viper spec t-56 until I can find an auto plan that meets my requirements.

My current t-56 still shifts ok. I will obviously need the output shaft fixed. I am not sure about the availability of stock output shafts.

Long story short it will be sold.

HAHAHAH I figured that. Keep me in mind "when" you decide to sell. I will just re-build it and use it in mine.:goodidea:

Jeff get a Viper spec T56 and keep the Cobra a Cobra:thmbsup:

Still tossing that around. I don't really like the cost and issues that I see with the 4r70 option. Th400 is strong, but I will be at 3000 RPMs to go 60 MPH which kills highway driving.

I am leaning towards a D & D Viper Spec T-56 at this point.
