so i got a bare casting to repair the bad aluminum head i have. i just have to take them to the machine show to get the valves/springs swapped to the new head. my question now is should i upgrade the valves and springs while i do it, and what should i look for. right now i just have the stock twisted wedge valves and springs. I dont have the money to port right now, so that's out of the question

that kit says it will convert my twisted wedge heads to track heat heads specifications? i thought that the ports may be different sides? but i guess not?

You can get better spring than that for cheaper. Contact www.camshaftinnovations.com and give Jay Allen a call he will set you up with the exact springs you need for less than those TFS springs.
Tell him Robert Shuble sent you and he'll take care of you.

Or you can contact Tim @ Rodeheaver's and have them get the stuff for a better deal than Jay Allen once you know the part numbers you will need. :D

I dont think he will give you part #'s until you pay him, just like all of the Custom cam guys. The prices he gave me on everything was cheaper than what you can buy them from Summit for, so take that for what its worth.:goodidea:

Yes, he was cheaper than Summit by about $40. He provided me with all of the spring parts etc. before I purchased the cam. Tim was able to better Jay's price. Even if he was the same, I'd rather give the business to a friend and site sponsor.

It just goes to show who buys more comp cam parts me or Jay Allen, i think its me...lol, i am a dealer for them... If you guys think this site holds my only customers you are wrong, i build roughly 1-2 engine every month and repair tons that other shops screw up.... Just be sure you have a good understanding of what you are doing because Jay sold a friend parts that didnt fit and then told ME to just grind his valve spring seats ON THE CAR!!!!!! With a die grinder, if we would have listened to Jay Allen, he would have been building a short block a long time ago... Like i said alot of my buis is fixing stuff other people mess up.. I get at least 2-3 calls a week eith people saying, Hey man, Mr.X built my motor and now its messed up, can you fix it??
