fu*k no hahah i wish they were. more like 225 hp and thats only at the flywheel. the torque rating was 300 ft lbs, once again at the flywheel
also this is just for 87-93...86 and earlier were even weaker. who ever told you this has no idea what he/she is talking about

93-95 i believe were 225 as well. the 96-97 were rated at 215, 98 was 225, and 99-04 were 240 or 260 (may be wrong on that one).

I read an article that Ford changed the calculation that they do to measure HP in 1993 that is why it went down on the 93's. I could not find the article again. It said that the 92 and 93 actually had the same amount of HP. Not sure if that is true or not.

Muscle Mustangs and fast fords put a stock 5.0 87-93 on a dyno and it made about 170 RWHP.

I have heard that the speed density cars 87-88 were slightly faster than the mass air cars when stock.

speed density cars have slightly more horsepower due to the mass air meter being restrictive....but only a couple more hp, like 4-5 more hp, so i wouldnt necessarily say faster, but a little more powerful yes.
i have read that the 93's were only 205 because ford changed the way they tested their engines so that it was a more "accurate" reading.....
either way it was no where near 310 lol

yess 93 is the first year of the hyper piston, you have to be careful with boost. i hear a little detonation will scatter it.

ive never seen a bone stock 5.0 on the dyno but very close there was a guy at AFN this year he had a 92lx5 speed it had the base timing at 14 and a k&n in the stock box with the silencer removed. still had stock exhaust and he said it still had stock gears and it was a 49,000 mile car very nice also very clean it made 189hp i thought that was pertty good
the other was a 88 gt 5 speed with high miles the guy said it had 18x,xxx.it had 3:55, a flowmaster cat back and a catted h pipe i think bbk, base timing at 14, bbk cold air in the fender well it made 223 hp
those are the only details i have about the 2 cars

My car is a 94 but they are the same pistons as the 93's. I do have a 92 Mustang w/ some nice factory forged pistons though....
I also have this nice rebuilt 302 with factory forged pistons in it that have been flycut, & a nice canton main girdle. So when my motor finally does go boom, I have this one sitting here waiting to go in.
