What's it correct to?

according to the calculator i found, he's at a -872DA given those stats, so if anything he would "correct" to something slower to bring it to STP.

That's the highest dyno'd 03 Mach 1 in history.
Mine dyno'd 279hp/292tq stock.

The track #s are completely believable though.
I ran a 13.1@107.69 stock on the stock Goodyears but the interior was gutted.

The 4.6L came a long way, hell, in 1997 a bone stock (sans drop-in-K&N) 4.6L 4V Cobra laid down 253 RWHP/255RWTQ.

I'd like to grab a hold of an example and go for an "untouched" 12 sec. pass. With the trap speed of the two examples above, it looks as if the 60' was dropped by a tenth or so, a sub-13 sec. pass may be a reality.

Then, taking it back a little farther, how about those 1st gen 4.6L's. I remember the first time I put the hammer down in one of those. With the same (1996-1997) net FWHP/FWTQ rating of 215 and 285 as the 5.0L SN-95 examples, they just didn't feel as strong. Most mainstream magazine articles raved about how this "new" powerplant would pass up the *outdated* 5.0L mill. Lacking some 20 cubic inches, and possessing a very narrow powerband made these combinations difficult to 60' and the top end suffered as well. Car and Diver and Motor Bend were hard pressed in getting these NON-p.i. cars into the mid 15's. I had the opportunity to compare two SN-95's, one with the vulnerable 5.0L and the other with a 1st gen. 4.6L. I can say this, the 4.6L was very non-responsive to a gear swap, opened up exhaust, pulley swap, and a K&N.

The peak ratings and where they occured in the powerband separated the two as far *seat-of-the-pants* feel. However, when comparing the two models as far as drag testing, they were surprisingly close, E.T and MPH.

Back to the topic in the original post. Ford got down to business when they released the 03-04 Mach 1 version of the 4.6L Generating 275 + RWHP is a solid 90-100 RWHP over the 1st two valve versions. In addition, no cubic inch increase was employed to bolster the gain. The Blue Oval did a great job on that model.:goodidea:

true but the mach 1 is a 4V, basically the cobra motor from 96-01

basically the cobra motor from 96-01

Huge misconception: Here's the low-down on that...

Note: The Mach 1 4.6L engine is NOT the 1996-1998 Cobra engine. And it is not a detuned version of the 1999-2001 Cobra engine. It has a different block(though made of aluminum), different heads and different cams.

I just noticed this guy's sig over at the Corral. His user name is Mustang92
and this is what it says. I don't have any clue as to the rest of his mods, but the dyno numbers you're speaking of are very similar. Even if the car is gutted with a 4.30 or .56 gear, I think this ET is awesome:

2000 GT–NA (11.97 @ 113.20, 285.3RWHP/296.3RWTQ)

The Mach motor has 10.1 to 1 compression, forged Cobra crank (m5 only), 03-04 Cobra heads, and navigator cams.
