If everything works as planned, I will have my '95 up and running with the new dart shortblock/AFR heads and quite possibly get my '90GT running with a 5 speed and 5 lug conversion to serve as my track car all by spring.

If money allows I'll also be doing at least one of the following with the '95:
1. Buying a stand alone computer (leaning towards the AEM at this point)
2. Buying a full fuel system (sumped tank, lines, rails, pump, regulator) and possibly injectors
3. Custom chrome moly roll bar

I can't put the turbo kit on until I get number 1 and 2. :(

I'll be doing twins this year if all goes as planned, if not then I will upgrade my supercharger to a D1 with 8 rib setup at about 18#'s of boost.

I'll be doing whatever it takes to get my car into the 10's w/ the stock longblock.
Here's what I have going so far.....
1. Toss my stock 3.33 pulley in favor of a 2.65 pulley that should put me around 17-18lbs. of boost up from the current 11lbs. I run now.
2. Install my Foxlake ported gt-40 lower and have my upper ported to match the lower and a new 75mm t.b. up from my old 65mm. t.b.
3. Lakewood 90/10 struts, and Moroso trick front springs, maybe a QA1 tubulat K-member.
4. New vlavlesprings for my stock gt-40 irons, new comp cam lifters, and timing chain
5. Possibly a new 8-point roll cage.
6. Anderson Mr. Freeze methanol injection kit
7. Maybe a Vortech T-rex inline pump
8. A new custom burnt SCT chip by Kayffmans

If this dosent get me into the 10's then I dont know what will!!

I dont know, I really hope not. Are you asking that because of the way we thought I was hitting the limiter at the track rental? If so, I believe that I was actually blowing my spark out & not hitting the rev-limiter, because the car pulls just like it use to now that I closed my gap down & got a new ignition coil.

1. Think I am going to build myself a stroker modular over the winter. Been looking at parts and trying to decide on what to use. Will keep it NA for next season but it must be able to take boost or large nitrous shots in future.

2. The 4.10s in rear need replaced badly. I have damaged teeth on ring gear. So I'm going to step up to 4.30 or maybe 4.56 gears.

3. Replace aluminum flywheel with a steel one. I lost way to much in 1/8 this year from the aluminum one.

4. Go over suspension and change out a few pieces

5. Install a cage and whatever safety gear I will need.

6. Goal is 11.0s NA

I really hate to say this but I LOVE my car just the way it is finally! Now I'm not sure how long this will last but for now I'll just be doing the usual winter TLC. Clay bar, Zaino, engine and interior detail.

Pulling the motor to smooth the engine bay. Possibly give the old mill a re-freshing, if needed. Looking to do some heads and intake. Re-building the trans. Second and third blocker rings are going out. Re-do the shitty cobra hood thats on the car now. this must have been the the throw away pile of hoods and I was lucky to get one. I just did all the other stuff I was "going to do for winter project" which was the 5-lug conversion with the PBR calipers and new spindles. Subframe connectors and gears. My wife is buying me the coil over conversion for the front and the adjustable rear lower arms for christmas.

Some form of added boost and some weight reduction.

Martin0660
11-11-2006, 04:43 PM
For the Capri....

1) Full length subframes.
2) A clutch that will hold up ;) Probably a Spec 3+, plus a flywheel shield.
3) Install a wideband O2 sensor, and add a fuel pressure gauge.
4) New cam (probably an A237 for those that know 2.3's)
5) Drag launch springs front and rear.
6) Looking for some weight reduction.
7) Clean-up of the interior and the underhood stuff I threw together last winter.
8) 6 point bar and a small wet shot are being considered, probably wont need the bar if the N2O dont happen ;)

im starting all over from the ground up with my car. this whole terminator thing is getting boring, played out and too easy...i need a challenge. i would love to stay modular and go with a turbo but it's not financially possible if i want to race next year. as long as it's something i haven't done before, fast and will be ready for next year im game. anybody got any suggestions? good luck to everyone on there projects!:woot1:

Here is an idea for you.... Do a dart 9.5" deck with some TFS R-series courtesy of TEA, a super victor, pro fogger, solid roller, a glide, keep it carbed, light weight, a set of wheely bars, and an eight sec. spec cage, then have a good time:goodidea:

-FRPP sport springs kit

( not a lot I know, but im poor, and i dont have enough money for a 331 yet.. hoping for mid-low 13's with that crap.. which isnt that impressive, but its better than what im running now. )

If the track is open next Sat, I will let you know what the gears do. I did the 3.73's in mine. Up from the 2.73's. BIG difference. That might do the timne you want. Mines slow too. HAHAHA

If you want to stay modular and want a challenge why not build a wickly insane NA motor for it. Do up the biggest modular stroker you can for it, fill it with the lightest and strongest internals you can in an aluminum block, and spin it to the moon. THAT would be impressive and a challenge. Just think how wicked a 8-10K rpm NA modular motor would sound and run like!?!?

Or buy that lil' 2.3L turbo motor that is for sale on pittspeed, do it up with a front mount, larger turbo, etc and drop it into your already light car. Its be different, people would scratch their heads wondering what the hell is under the hood, you'd have a turbo'd mustang, and its be a hell of a lot cheaper than anything you have planned in doing up a modular. :laughing1:

After that I'd be thinking of a 4.125" bore 8.2 deck dart block stuffed with all the goodies to make it a 363 with your current stuff. To all but the sharpest eye it'd look just like the old stock shortblock that was there before. Can you imagine what higher compression and 60 more cubes would do to your times??? I'm drooling just thinking about it!:awsome:
