On April 12th 2008 the fastest/quickest N/A NON-flycut stock bottom end 302 H/C/I will be torn down to verify the validity of the claims associated with this particular combination. During this day the said car will be flogged down the quarter mile multiple times to verify e.t. After the e.t.'s are generated the tear down will commence. Inspection of the pistons, bore, stroke, etc. will be completed. The cam specs will not be disclosed.
Location: Cecil County Dragway- Rising Sun, MD
Time: 2 pm

I hope after the tear down its not getting re-assembled as-is. If you go that far into it, put some more cubes, more compression, lighter rotating assembly or something in there.

Any day I want my car to go 3 or 4 tenths faster than anywhere else on the east coast I'd go to cecil
You are missing the point or should I say ignoring it!
If this car is so fast then why does it have to run in those conditions especially when he is what less than an hour from PRP!
Like I said BSD in late July on a sat TNT and I'm here to say it doesn't even run 10's let alone a mid 10

And if anyone's upset at their times, then maybe they should run at Cecil if it truly is "faster". I certainly would :pinkthumb:

so u are telling me that no matter were u are at in the world the same car will run the same times, if thats the case u have no idea what u are talking about, there are so many factors that play a role from track to track. i was talking to people that race at beaver and then made a trip to mri, same car un touched from one weekend to the next picking up almost a half a second. with weather conditions almost the same as far as temperature. as far as the 10.6 at cecil thats great in all but i also asked this same question in another thread about why this has to take place in cecil county when there is a drag strip that close to him. everytime i have heard anything about this car being on a race track it has been that one.

I meant that a 10.6 is a 10.6. If it was run in death valley or on the California coast in the fall...who cares, it's still a 10.6 Sorry should have explained that a little better in my prior post.

I can't speak for Joe but I assume he is racing at cecil for the same reasons I used to. Its a great track with great people working it, there are a lot of great people that attend the event, and its also a mustang track rental day where you get multiple runs on a very well prepped surface unlike most of the tracks around here. I used to go to PRP every week for TNT until I started going to cecil. All in all, I spent the same amount of money to race at Cecil twice a year at the SSOTN events as I did going weekly to PRP. In doing so I was actually able to test and tune my car since I got more than 2-3 runs in, and it didn't require as much beating on the car as did weekly trips to PRP. Also, the track was very prepped and therefore consistent. I got more enjoyment, and more data from racing at Cecil twice a year than I ever did racing weekly at PRP. Like I said, I can't speak for Joe but I suspect that these things play just as an important role in him racing there as the fact that its a faster track than PRP.

i have ran at all the tracks prp ,beaver , cecil and mason i lke mason the best only because of how close it is, cecil is next then prp, beavers people are nice, but i just can't get any traction there , i ran at cecil 3 years ago and hooked so hard i almost stalled the car lol

Who cares where joe is gonna run his car and tear it down....its not your car, so keep your doubts to yourself until you see the car in person, I would go to norwalk every week instead of prp because thats where i ran my best time and thats where i can get traction.....As for the question of WHY this tear down is taking place, i wanna know too. 2. To document the claims of said cubic inch displacement.
3. To illustrate the potential of a stock bottom end 302

Joe I think your crazy for tearing down your motor just so some idiots can see what you got. They aren't going to be anymore happy when its all down then they were before. They probably just want to watch you go through all that work.
Its not rocket science. Its not like your making 800 hp on a stock bottom end and there is some mystery on how your doing it. The car is making 367 hp its not impossible to do. What is so difficult for people to understand on how the car runs 10.6. You have a car that make 367 hp and weight almost nothing. You put a suspenion under the car that will hook and a tire with the right gear. I hope im not losing anyone. Now you take the car to Cecil and wawla you have a car that runs 10.6's take it to PRP and it probably runs 11.10 who knows but it is still fast.
Maybe in your equation you should have cecil in the calculation.
367*2825-.5sec(cecil)=10.60 and people will be able to sleep at night.
Yes my car runs 11.4's(hopefully 11.2's this year) at prp and would probably run 10.7's at cecil and quicker if I gutted and opened up the exhaust but thats not my cup of tea. I don't care what the timeslip says on the street its all even. The only people that think there is some mystery are the ones that don't understand how a car works.

X2 - I drive mine all the time and enjoy the snot out of it. Yeah, it could be quicker / faster if I stripped it and went to one of the mineshaft tracks, but what do we really have to prove to anyone? I have the quickest / fastest 2.3 at PRP that is driven there mostly every week. Do I get a cookie? If we arent doing this stuff for ourselves, whats the point ;)

So just tear it down and show everyone it is a 93 stock shortblock with stage 1 trick flow heads and a big cam retarded to hell and back and pat yourself on the back some more and then leave it sit all summer till it is 40 degrees out again and run it down the mountain some more
