My brother and I have been looking for a project car to work on together and I think that I may have found one. The guy says that a family member has had it sitting at their grandma's house for a couple of years but now it needs to go because they are selling the house. The only problem is, he has no clue where the title is. So my question is, if I can get him to give me a good deal, is there a way I can get a title for it and get it registered? If it is possible, how difficult (read: expensive) would it be?

....or somebody could buy my Gravedigger and 4-cylinder so I have enough money to buy something a little nicer with a title that can actually be found. :biglaugh:

also depending on the year of the car, you can send away to broadway title for a new one. they have a cut off somewhere in the 80's.
i have used them a few times for various vintage mustangs i have bought.

thanks for the help guys, the car ended up being far from what I expected, anyway.

It was an '86 hatch with an 87-up nose and gt ground effects that had he said had been converted to MAF but that was missing along with the computer, wiring harness, most of the interior and some one was on their way for the rear and 5-speed tranny. I didn't bother asking a price when he got into not bothering with getting the title from the previous owner because they were going to use if for parts for another car despite it looking to be in pretty decent shape and he claims that it ran fine.
