Hollywood Knights Rental Sunday May 25, 2008 at Quaker City Dragway. Gates open at 9 a.m. with racing from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Participants are $35 each, which includes one other person with you as pit crew. Children 10 and under are free. Spectators are $5 at the gate. Concessions will be open and there will be trophies although they haven't decided how to break up yet. There will be a rain date set if we get washed out,and that would be announced at that time. Tickets are being pre sold. If anyone wants tickets or needs other info, they can contact me at duconstrco@aol.com or call me at the shop at 330-783-2078. or take a chance at the gate.
If you would post this for me I would appreciate it. I seem to be having trouble logging in and maybe I can figure out what's wrong by then so I can answer any questions on the site. Thanks, Dave

sounds fun! I had a great time the last time I was there.

Only $35.00 to get in sounds great. Are they putting a cap on the number of cars?

We usally get a good turn out at this rental, 135 to 150 and we have had more interest this year. We don't want to get carried away and have so many show up we can't make a lot of runs. Therefore the advance sales, or you can take a chance at the gate. This is also the first time Quaker is promising us a rain date, so we feel confidant we'll have more planning on attending. pm me where to send your check. Dave

Not sure who all went but here's my update....
Best time of 11.13, 1.634 60ft, 120mph:goodidea:

But then....

On my next run (11.27) my top end started making noise....looks like a teardown is in order.:duh:

This meet was awesome as you could run literaly as many times as your car would allow. I got five runs in before I broke.

My one buddy on his corvette got 8 in, best ET of 11.8

My 2nd buddy got 3 in before he blew the head gasket on his 66 Falcon. best ET 10.90.:goodidea:

And last but not least the guy in the Shelby GT 500, black with gold strips, ran a best of 13.6 before his clutch took a dump. This car only had 185 miles on it. And the slow times were mostly due to taking it easy and runing street tires at full pressure.

As they say...you want play, you gotta pay.
