I got the first autocross of the season under my belt now with the SVTF. I was in the STN (street tire novice) class and wound up taking 2nd place! I had an absolute blast and I'm finally starting to feel comfortable behind the wheel of this FWD car. It definitely takes some getting used to. I'm debating on buying a new set of SVT 17" wheels and either Falken Azenis or Dunlop Dirreza start specs for the car to make the car a little more competitive as I'm allowed to run a 215-45-17 tire and I'm only running a 205-50-16 right now.
Here's a pic of the action:

Steve (Blacksheep) also did very well in his class, but I'll let him post his results.

What are the class rules regarding your tire selection? You want to use the MOST aggresive tire allowed if you want to be competitive. If the rules state a DOT tire not a street tire, than you buy a DOT tire, an good tire for cone killing is the Hoosier A6, Kumho V710, etc.

Tim- I'm absolutely having more fun doing this than I ever did drag racing. I just wish I wouldn't have to totally rebuild my mustang in order to run it. :( I'll still take it out once or twice this year for sun though.
Rob- LOL! I didn't hit that cone, its a marker cone showing which way to go around it. I do have videos, I just don't have the time to pull them off the camera and onto the computer. I will though and when I do I'll post them up. I've been busy as hell (I know I sound like a broken record), but I rarely have time to sleep and eat let alone anything else. My new heads are supposed to be here on friday and I don't know when I'm going to have time to put them on. :(

I believe the rules state that the treadwear must be a minimum of 200, which makes the NT01/A6/V710 etc all illegal, but I am going to double check before I buy anything.
