Was out cruising through Fox Chapel on the bike during lunch and happened to see one of these guys... http://www.roushperformance.com/i/p51a_mustang_1_big.jpg :drool5::thbs:
I was reading about them last week on Roush's site or I wouldn't even have know what it was. There's only 151 built so I was definitely surprised to see one out cruising around. It's the only Roush with forged internals. Puts out 510 hp stock with potential for much more with the forged internals I'm sure. http://www.roushperformance.com/mustang_p51.shtml

i guess Jack Roush restored the original owned and piloted by Bud Anderson... who was an old time war buddy and tributed the car to him ?? or the plane...

I'd have to agree. Especially for the S197 body style.

it appears that is the design for the 357th Fighter Group... the "Yoxford Boys" (google has some very interesting info on these guys) their whole fleet had the same nosecone design... and the colors come from their insigia badges...

I saw one of these parked next to a pair of the Roush 427's down at Roush Racing in Charlotte last month. I tried asking about it but no one seemed to know much about it aside from the plate underhood stamped "511hp 508tq"....... :awsome:
All I can say is that up close,,,,,,,:jaw-dropping:
