    emissions question

someone told me that my truck weighs enough not to have emissions on it. Is there a weight where they stop giving emissions tests?

What county are you in? If the truck weighs more then 8800 then u need the sniffer test (old machine) to pass. I had the same problem when I tried to pass a f250. It won't pass on obd 2 machine.

If you are in an emissions county, you truck won't get emissions IF: the vehicle's gross weight is over 9000 pounds or it is diesel. With a superduty, you either get a sniffer if it is less than 9000 lbs, or nothing if it is above.

Registered weight means nothing, the GVWR on the door sticker is what matters. 9000 lbs or less must get an emissions. 9001 lbs and up get nothing.
If the GVWR on the sticker saya 9000 lbs and you live in Allegheny county you should get a sniffer test given the truck is gasoline powered.
