    Question Gear Question?

I ordered FMS 4:10 Gears and i was wondering if it would be a good idea to purchase the rebuild kit or not?? I've heard mixed views depending on miles etc. If it matters my cars a 02 and it has 25,000 miles. I was going to get the motive rebuild kit.

don't waste your money on a speed cal, get a tuner.

really? whats the downside of them. i eventually plan on getting a tuner in the future but for now i fugured the calibrator would work.

you said it your self, "you plan on getting a tuner"....so just get an sct tuner for your mods. tuning for a na mod car is elementary so go with a reputable mail order guy and call it good. speed cal's are a thing of the past...

i got my ford racing gears from stangmods.com. i had a coupon from a previousorder so i had a little discount. i got them for like 155 or something like that.they range usually from around 160 upwards to 200.motive,ford racing are goodbrands that ive heard goodthings about. americanmuscle.com has good prices/selection also and free shipping.

If we are not fearing the gear we can do a lot better than 4.10's. I have 4.30's in my 2007 right now and the 4.56's felt WAY better but I did not like the idea of the cut down center pin in the differential. I think i have figured out a way to use the 4.56's without cutting the center pin and as soon as i get some time they are going back in.
The little 4.6's love the gear. I have had my 2007 to PRP once with the 4.30's in it. It went 12's on the stock tires with gears, mufflers, off-road x pipe, jlt intake, underdrive pulleys, and a canned sct tune.
