Is a MSD 2-step considered "box"?
Trophy is only 12.00 and slower, if I run in there and go faster will they make me switch classes? Or do I just lose my 1st. race after the 2 test passes if I run to quick?

Id say sounds like electronics to me.

What you scared to run with the big boys? Youll just have to run in the ford electronics class.

Rio, correct, the classes I posted did not include the Ford classes. My guess, strictly my guess, would be the Ford classes would be after Trophy. Also, Mod and Top stage over in the Carmen's Cafeteria lanes (lanes 7 through 10), Street uses lanes 1-4 (looking straight down the track, driver's far left is lane 1), and Trophy uses lanes 5-6.

Mr. Brewer mentioned the same thing to me, if this gets a good turnout, it could lead to an all Ford day.

GM, you won't be allowed to dial quicker than the 12.00 for eliminations in Trophy. You can dial 12.00, and either hope for a red light, or a breakout, or try to play top end. A 2 step is considered electronics, but not a box. "Box" equals delay box, which is connected to a transbrake. This allows a racer to leave off the top bulb, and adjust the amount of delay before the transbrake solenoid releases. Generally, it's 1.0xx, with the 1.0 being the half second (.500 + .500) for each the second and third ambers. No electronics is footbrake launch only.

Ed, that will be cool! I'll try to get up there if you run Mod and snap a pic.

Bob, if you want to try to get Joan out in first round, be last to go up... she'll always be at the back because she runs Street. Just an idea. :D

Yes he can unless he has a Transbrake or Delay box.

If the 2 step is connected to a transbrake, then he's in the box/electronics class.

You know the dilema, that's one way to do it, but if I fail, it digs the hole even deeper.

I see that everyone is excited about Sunday. We are hoping to have an All Ford Day, or getting Fun Ford Weekend up at the track. There are alot of nice Fords--Mustangs out there. Very impressive Mustangs! I just hope everything goes smoothly for all of you. Hope to meet some of you up there. Let's have a great turn out. Thanks to Laurel Mountain Mustangs!

No its a stick so im guessing its not considered a box then. Sure makes the car act like a transbrake.

Tinks!!!! I didnlt know you were on here too! :D

Bimini, run the SVT.... it's a Ford, after all, and it's bracket racing. :D I'm a firm believer in running anything. I once went to the final roind in Street driving a Dodge Dynasty that couldn't get out of its own way, 19.97-19.99 consistent as all get out though. :D Ed, did I get you that day?? :D

The stick throws a wrench into what I know of the rulebook. I *think* 2 steps may be allowed for stick cars and still be considered no electronics. If I get some clarification I'll post it. I'm thinking that you should be considered footbrake though, since the car is still foot controlled, as opposed to a transbrake solenoid releasing.

haha, I hear you on running anything and normally do, but I'm not in the position to fix it if I break it right now (read: my wife would kill me after the recent Mustang bills :) )
BTW, 2-steps on sticks should be NO Box from my experience.

Is that what you plan on running Billy?
I hope we don't have a hard time getting the cars lined up.
BTW, I want the left lane!

Chuck, I don't think a transbrake and a two-step is considered electronics. I don't see any reason GMkiller couldn't run in the no box class.

I'm not looking forward to double classing sunday with these temperatures.

X2 - I've never tried it yet, and not sure I will be able to deal with all of the heat, especially if it goes a few rounds and the later ones start to come fast.

According to the IHRA, transbrakes and 2 steps are not considered electronics. Mod class runs both. However, you can triple class on Sunday. Ford race, Top and Mod. There are a few racers who race Mod and also double class in Top. Electronics is basically considered the Delay box. No transbrakes or 2 steps permitted in Street class or Trophy class.

Yes, CobraII, I finally made my way here too. It takes me awhile, I'm old, remember!!
