I would guess that most people wouldn't have complained about the scratches. I told the service manager to put an asterisk next to my customer number since I am a car guy and tend to be picky about my cars. The manager told me they use the plastic insert on the tool that Insanely Crazy mentioned in an earlier post. I replied and said they must not have or the scratches wouldn't be there. Who knows? My guess is they were in a hurry and ended up scratching $1500 worth of wheels (just a guess there).

Glad you held ur ground. They'll be a little more competent to the next guy.
Somebody got fired yesterday...Nice to see it all worked out for you.
Just wanted to add a little about mounting this stuff,,,, i have worked at the same place over 9 years, we have a high end machine that cost about $8500.00,,,, when a mercedes, or porsche or mustang or anything of value comes into the shop, its either me or my friend thats been there the same amount of time doing these wheels. I have tried everything in my power to not scatch wheels, IT CAN HAPPEN!!!! Even with the nylon head on the machine, the bead breaker even has a nylon head, rubber bead rollers, its very possible to scratch a wheel, I know first hand, what reall sucks is that when something happens,,,, even out of your control, your screwed., and you just bought a wheel!!!!!!!!!
JUNK IT!
Bob - glad to hear everything worked out for you. For what you paid for that ride they should take care of you. But my question is - why the heck did your MDX need tires already? I thought you bought it new, and not too long ago...

Long story, but here is the short version. The Bridgestone Dueler OEM tires wore out real fast on the edges. The TL's have a recall due to premature Bridgestone tire wear. Acura told me they must have been underinflated. I said that I have a Tire Pressure Monitor system that is supposed to warn me when the tires are low - I received no warnings. They said the system is not smart enough to detect small pressure loss over days/weeks. I replied and said then what good is it. We went a few more rounds after that. Finally, they agreed to pay for 2 replacement tires. So I had them put 4 Michelens on it. That is when they scratched my rims.
