    Tune???

I am a little lost when it comes to the whole chip/tuner thing. So my question is......With all the upgrades I have listed I still havent had a tune,is this something that I should do and how big of a difference would it be?Who is able to do this?

Definitely get a tune... I can't tell ya who to go to, but some people on here will be able to...

you'll gain some good power and responsiveness from it!

On a side note, were you at QSL in robinson tonight?

How does the car run with the current mods you have on it? I had similar mods on my stock 95, minus the smog delete, and with 14* timing, I had no issues.

I don't see where you would be gaining, not in power or drivability, that is if the car is running good.

Runs great for the most part, but really opens up between 3,000 and 4,500 since I got the longtubes.Has been throwing the belts lately so I am gonna have to run the smog pump again I guess.

Are you running a shorter belt for the smog delete? Instead of re-installing the smog pump, maybe look into running a smog delete pulley. I got one from ASP for my 347 for like $69 and it lets you run the stock belt.

Yeah I have a shorter belt.Ford racing said that you don't need a delete pulley on 94-95's you can just bypass it.So the pump is still on just not hooked up.

Did you bypass the A/C also? Just curious because I ditched my A/C also, but did not get a pulley. Was wondering if that is required?

I don't know much about the 5.0 crowd, but I've had two N/A 4.6 2Vs tuned and I don't think it's worth it. Unless you need a speedo adjustment, rear O2s turned off, it's not worth it for the maybe 5hp you gain.

Like stated above, if you don't have driveability issues, I wouldn't worry about it. Wait for a s/c or turbo to pay for a tune.

Maybe get a dyno with A/F and go from there, but you can still change the timing and fuel pressure manually on the 5.0 if need be. A tune for a N/A car with bolt-ons is not really a benefit in my opinion.

With your current mods, there isn't anything you would really benefit from having a custom tune.

Hmmm ok, n/m then... the general consensus is not to get one. i just spoke from what i've dealt with, but i've also not dealt with fords... just assumed that they ford tunes were as conservative/bad as the gm tunes from the factory

A tune is beneficial regardless of mods, even a bone stock mustang will benefit from one...especially the s197's. Only the buyer can decide if it is cost effective/necessary for their application...to do so or not. The choice is yours...good luck either way

If his car was a modular, it may be worth it, but the pushrod mill in his car would see better gains by just dialing in the fuel pressure and timing via distributor adjustment. For what an actual tune and cost of a chip would run him, he could dam near buy a decent set of heads or at least a cam and intake upgrade.

Once it's supercharged for sure. Oops, my bad! Didn't notice till just now this was in the "Ask the vendors a question" section. Feel free to delete all my posts. Don't want to be mistaken as someone contributing something useful.

X2! The only thing that sucks is that your car is a rare breed and there is little to no help in the way of flash based programmers. You can get a SCT or Diablo to tune idle and WOT but everything in-between is left to fend for its self. I have talked with the folks at both SCT and Diablo and they all say the same thing “our products don’t do much for the 94’s” but whoever said it would be wise to get it on dyno with A/F numbers is correct because you don’t want anything bad happening to that nice ride. PM me if you interested, good luck either way!
