why would you let a buddy go there?

just from what I've heard and read, I'd lay in front of anybody's car to keep them from taking it there.

I emailed him today. He answered me on his vacation. I think I will be calling him monday.

I like going to SGS but Dave dosen't really work hard on drivability. He was sick last time and really wasn't into tuning my car. I have been tuned their 4 times in as many years.

The next person I go to has to be good at getting the car to cruise smoothly.

Don Lasota will do an excellent job as well, but you're looking at a 3 hour ride each way. I just took my 90 GT to him and am very happy with his work.

I'll drive if the tune is good. It's getting to point of who I can afford more than who's the best. I spent so much money lately and I feel like an idiot.

I kinda find this difficult to believe. Dave makes you drive your car when he is done and if you dont like something, he fixxes it. He does a great job with driveability. Unless you told him all you wanted was to get the most out of what you have.

+1 on this Wick. He did the same for me, but Pepper did say Dave was sick when he was there. Maybe he was having a bad day???

Guys I have been going there for 4 years straight so I like Dave.

But when I got there this time he was sleeping in the lounge sick. More grouchy than usual. It was evident he was unhappy and didn't want to be there.

I brought it back and told him it was still running a little bad at low rpm and lite load, just not bad as before. He's oh its because it has no swirl dams in it and it is probably the best it was going to get. Just the nature of the beast.

I should of been more persitent and made him understand that it was more than an ocassional hiccup. If I keep it above 3k it sounds and feels like a race car. Anything under that and partial throttle it's missy and jerky. I can eliminate some of it by manipulating the throttle.

It does it on the flats and on the interstate, But gets worse when it started getting hilly again on the way home from the tune. With the cruise on and or constant light pedal it farts and misses ever few seconds. Like it's loading up a little.

Have you looked into tuning for yourself? As long as you work up on it slowly, you can do a lot with a GOOD wideband, a dragstrip, and a LOT of patience to get WOT tuned, then nice stretches of open road to work on drivability.

I have thought about it. It would be great to not have to depend on a tuner all the time.

But I'm affraid of blowing it up lol. Wish some one would teach me.

There in lies the problem ;) It's really tough to tech anyone, and even tougher to cross over models / EEC's etc. I've got me hands around the PE processor, but am now switching to LA3 (2.3 stuff). In parallel to this i'm trying to learn A9L to help a buddy with his. Ford sure didnt keep a lot of similarity in the code, that's for sure. The LA3 and A9L are of the same era / generation and they are so different its rediculous. Thank goodness for binary editor, at least as long as there is a good deffinition file, I can work through it :D

I thought with the OBD2 stuff the deffinition files where better defined and there where decent commercial products to tune with?
