In parallel to this i'm trying to learn A9L to help a buddy with his. Ford sure didnt keep a lot of similarity in the code, that's for sure. The LA3 and A9L are of the same era / generation and they are so different its rediculous. Thank goodness for binary editor, at least as long as there is a good deffinition file, I can work through it :D

I thought with the OBD2 stuff the deffinition files where better defined and there where decent commercial products to tune with?

I would call Dave and tell him the driveability is still poor. See if he is willing to give it another (free) try considering you've been a customer many times over.

It would be cheaper in fuel to make a return trip than pay for another tune elsewhere.

But I'm affraid of blowing it up lol. Wish some one would teach me.
If you want to start tuning you need to start logging your car and get on the tuner forums. I have learned quite a bit about tuning just from being a middle between my customers and Jon Lund. Just by logging the cars, knowing the paremeters that need to be monitored and understanding values, I have a solid foundation to get me started into tuning when I get the dyno. Nobody becomes a tuner over night or because they have a dyno but it isn't nearly as hard or complex as some people make it out to be. It's like with anything else, your either going to get it or your not, either way you should try if thats what you really want to do.

Well, except some of the tuners. I've been amazed at some of what i've heard thrown out there (none of the local guys) in the interest of confusing customers to keep them from understanding what is being done. Its AFR and timing folks ;)
