    power window override????

    the wifes window motor went out in her 01 today. now its raining, go figure.when you push the switch to put the window down you get a click ,when you push to go up nothing. is there anyway to override the motor to put the window up manually??

    unfortunately,,,NO. To manually put her window up, you'll have to take the doorskin (indise panel) off and take the motor off of the regulator. Then push the window up and wedge something in there to keep it up.

    iave the doorskin off but how do i take the motor off the regulator? i cant even see the motor just the inside sheetmetal and some bolts.

    Hm, It's been so long since I have seen the inside of these doors. I'll have Dennis's off tomorrow if you can wait, lol. I would start with finding the motor first and seeing how its attached. If the window is down, perhaps you can see how it attaches to the regulator (usually 2 8mm bolts along the bottom of the glass) and take the window off the regulator instead.

    ill try it. the only deent opening is at the bottom back side of the door though so ill be scraping some knuckles for sure. thank for the help.

    rhw only bolts i can find are holding the motor and tracks to the door. everything else looks to be riveted on so hell with it ill finger it out tommorrow in the daylight when its not raining. thanks for all the help.

    Dont forget to put a plastic bag over the window for the night

    i got plastic over the door and controls, one over the window, and a tarp over the top of the car so i hope it stays dry.
