    exhaust idea

I've been thinking about getting a classic plate so I wont have to get emissions checked. Was thinkin about some different setups, but was wonderin, keep in mind this is setip to work with the nsvo style sideskirt.

Would it be possible to have a set of long tube headers connected to two one piece seamless 3 inch pipes, with a cross piece for support at where the H pipe cross piece would be, and then have those go into dynomax bullet mufflers into a lil more pipe then tips. basically just eliminating the cats and seams along the way. Also I believe my bassani X pipe I have is only 2.5 inch so I was hoping to keep the 3 inch pipe the whole way through.

    Thanks in advance, Mike

that sounds a little tough.. Is the car lowered?? and what type of tips are you thinking of using, i know that the borla tips that are made for those skirts only have a 2.1/4 inlet...

the car is goin to be lowered, I'm just trying to get the most flow possible, no cats with just the dynomax mufflers. I cant find the tips that fit the svo side skirts, but I wanted to know if i bought single tips you could weld them into a dual tip with a little bit of an offset like the original borla side tips.

is there much of a difference between 2.5 and 3 inch as far as exhaust flow is concerned?

1st, i think we could weld the 2 tips together and make em go through the holes, just find 2 tips that will work i cna fab up a y-pipe for them no problem..

2nd, Acording to flowmaster and others, 450hp is the max to try and put through dual 2.5" exhaust, so if you go 3" and dont have the power it will actually hurt you a tiny bit in the low end torque area... the dynomax bullets are a pretty compact design if you get the shorter ones they offer, the standard 3" is really long

3rd, i have built a few of the side exhausts for those cars using 2.5" pipe and we didnt have much problem, other than a little drag here and there on low cars. i would have to say the 3" would pose a bigger problem for dragging at times...
