Tires stick past wheel wells? Think there is a certain height for bumpers too.

yes tires stick out, i know it used to be 3" out from fenders. bumpers used to be front 36" and rear 27" which we used to still inspect if over somewhat to an extent.

But the cops sometimes have a different opinion. as I understand there is no exact law for hood scoops, but it is discretion if it is an obstruction of view that was a few years ago but my buddy got his truck inspected legally, but still got a fine for his scoop, depends on the cop. But if your tires stick out too far it's a reason to get pulled over. just my opinion, but I think a lot of laws are stupid

Used to be the given rule for a scoop was a dollar bill high or 6". And your right depends on the cop. Same goes with our lifted ones. Some see my tires and look pretty hard and yes they stick out. I do have flares not very big ones. If they pulled me over and did the straight edge test I could get fined. Although I have never been harased about anything probaly more or less depends if they see you acting stupid or if it is extremely noticable.

No tire tread past the edge of the fender.
Flares are legal but can be no wider than 3 inches.
Both front and back bumper may not be any higher than 30 inches - Home made drop downs are not acceptable. In the data below are some of the codes. There was an update that I have that eliminated the bumper height to GVW chart and made the height all 30 inches.
If the tangent point of the tire to the lowest rearmost point on the truck exceeds 22.5* you must run flaps. This one is not an easy one to enforce because most cars on the road are in violation.

It seems as if the Po-po around here are getting really anal about vehicle equipment violations. I was cited a few weeks ago for the 33" tires on my f250 stickin gout past the wheel well. Not I have flares.
