Finally getting ready to start the rebuild...

Ok, i have been collecting parts for quite a while now for my 87 GT roller, and now im getting ready to start the rebuild coming up real soon. It is going to be a stock 302 .030 over, stock crank and rods, speed pro hyper pistons, B cam, new timing chain.

Here are some of the things i've picked up:

cobra upper and lower intake, 24lb injectors, new balancer, new oil pump and driveshaft, new lifters, FMS pedestal 1.6 roller rockers, hardened pushrods, 65mm throttle body, ARP main and head bolts, most of the gaskets(not all are pictured of course), and also not in the pics are my GT40p heads with TFS valve spring upgrade and taurus fan i picked up.

The wheels are AFS 03 cobra wheels, 17x8.

This week i will be picking up another crankshaft (mine is messed up), new bearings, and cylinder head dowel pins. As soon as i get those final few things, i will start the rebuild. i plan to keep this thread updated as i move along. Let me know what you think!

You should start now by making your harnesses that go over the shock towers longer and stuffing them in the towers. Really cleans up the engine bay by boing so.

it may look good in there, but i'm not sure it would work out too well.

yeah i thought about that, and i do know how to solder. i just dont know what all i need such as what kind of wires to get, and how to properly route everthing and so fourth. i may not do it right away, but i would eventually like to do it.

Can it be easily done with the motor in the car? or is it to much of a PITA?

Yeah, its easy. If you run a mass air meter in the wheel well, that one does not need to be lenghtened. The rest are just cutting and soldering. Use the same gauge or one size larger wire. The colors dont have to match just so you connect the right ones together. Hardest part is drilling the hole to route the wires through on the front of the left wheel well.

You should talk to Hotmark on here. He does a great job powder coating. He could do your cobra intake. He did mine in a gloss black and it looks great.
