Its WRONG to try to outrun cops. That being said. The kid embarassed the "veteran" driver. What about the end of the video? "The subject is caught later after the BMW breaks down" Looks to me like they replayed a short piece of the footage where the kid jams on the brakes and makes a U-ey across the median. My guess is they are trying to save face. Kid was a good driver and seemed more calm than the cop. He lost it because of the shoulder fake!![]()
I agree. It is wrong to outrun the cops. If your running, then there must be a reason, so pull over and take what your getting, but don't endanger the cops or civilians. I think when cops are put in 'high speed pursuit' situations, they play it safe. Sure they have vehicles with more HP, than most standard vehicles, but they don't push it as to no endanger themselves or others, but to just maintain visible contact and hopefully get the vehicle to stop without incident. Could you imagine if that kid would have hit the stop-sticks at 100mph+.. He would have lost control and possibly cause others to wreck.

Police cars do not have much if anymore HP than a standard vehicle of the same type. Trust me police cars are slow. It all comes to remaining calm, opportunity and driving skills.
