my first and only pass sucked..... i spun the whole way down the eighth and got beat by a 32 ford with a chevy mill.. Then to top it off i drove her home in a pretty serious rain storm, it was ALL over the road...

why do they let race cars run at a street car event? i have heard this is a problem from many people but have never been to one of these events to know for sure???

Well you have to have valid inspection and insurance and registration and all of that is easy to get on any car, I have had a couple trucks that should have been scraped but got them inspected. But the guys at the FLD's noticed and they are going to try and keep the final races for street cars no tthe race cars but money talks and they are not going to turn anyone away from racing.nice pics!

They say that every year and every year i see that damb Dodge tubbed out with like a 25 point cage in it win. Theres also a Chevelle or two and a Camaro and a S10 that have no business being there.
That said people that go want to see the fastest cars so to keep spectators comming they will have the Big Boys in the finals.

Did the camaro have a cowl hood? He was on my ass about racing him since I was playin around with him on 79 on the way there, he told me he ran 11.50's.
I only got two runs in before the rain. I raced the same yellow 04 cobra twice and got him the first time by about 2 cars, then by 3+ the second time around. Not exactly worth the 30 bucks but o well.
No the camaro looked totally stock and totally took me by surprise. He purged the nitrous right before we ran then i knew something was up with it. i drove my car from McKeesport (60 miles) made some passes and went home in the rain with no ac, and et streets......now that was fun!! i didnt realize untill i got home that when i checked my timing that i had 12 degrees too much timing in the car for a total of 40degress total!!! oops, gotta love cometic head gaskets.
By the way 130 miles round trip plus racing i used 8 gallons of fuel, 351w, 4;10's and a 750 dp, not too bad.

I guess it must be a car that only runs 12s.....and every guy that has ever ran in true street class has been cheating... At the last fun ford event there was a guy that was running in the 8s... i guess he must have had a race car in a street car class???
