Well its official folks. Shes up for sale or trade. Got laid off and I know the next job wont have the same 7 mile commute so i need to get something awd or 4wd thats reliable and gets around 17-20mpg.IM really honest about my vehicles... So here goes..
1998 Stang Gt satin silver gray interior.
True miles..slightly unknown lol....for 3 years its had the wrong trans in it...a T45 out of a 99 and up so it has the wrong speedo pick up on it. Shows 290K something but the tripometer spins like a slot machine on the highway. Its actually around 140k.i know i know but oh well thats what i have to offer. Has a cheap ebay white gauge cluster that supposedly has adjustable lighting...sometimes it works..sometimes it doesnt..NOT installed by me!
With that said 4th gear grinds unless you shift into it really slow and pops out of gear at times. Rebuild kit is 145 bucks...Rodheavers can reuild it for 250-300. I was going to have him do it next month...but well you know.
Its got 4.10 gears and as far as im concerned it could use new bearings and what not as they howl a bit on the highway.
Its got a PI longblock swap from a 99gt...engine has about 100k miles on it. Stock excpet for a plenum spacer and a cheaper ebay CAI. Runs great starts everytime no smoking or anything.
Fidanza Aluminum flywheel and King cobra clutch with bbk adjustable cable and quadrant. This is the king cobra that i dont think is available anymore..they used to sell two version one with 10% more pedal effort..and one with 40%....well before i got the car it was my roommates car..he put in the 40% clutch even though his wife would drive the car to work at times..130 miles round trip lol. So yeah even though its 6yrs old the clutch is stills tiff and chatters at times.It has a old UPR blue thunder sifter that very notchy..i have a Tri-Ax right here waiting for install....it also has a mach 1 knob on it
The car rides rough and is slammed on Eibach Sportlines...i have a set of Used mach1 springs with new ford rubber isolaters sittnig right here.
Has offroad xpipe with resonators welded in and 3in mac catback. The resonators took away the "jake-brake" sound it had when gearing down...still thought i get lots of compliments on the way it sounds. Also it doesnt have MIL's as its never had a check engine light on lol.
Its on anthracite bullets...some curb rash from pervious owner but they clean up nice...Nexen tires in stock size..ehh they are round and rubber. No you wont cut some 1.85 60ft but they do well in the rain and everyday driving .
The body could use paint..only cuz i wanted to two tone it and it does need some body work ont he right rear 1/4 panel. I drove over a rubber tie down that i didnt see in the road. One end stuck in the tire..the other beat the 1/4 panel up a few times..ill get pics of it. Not really bad but i know its there..some dont notice it. Couple rock chips here and there..paint on very front edge of the hood is cracked a bit. Has a real S281 wing on it..no i have no proff its a real one but oh well. The back of the bumper says Mustang Gt...it looks black but its actually a very very dark purple with with sight blue marblizing..buddy of ours painted it years ago.
The inside shows some wear. The gray carpet is dirty..i was gonna repalce it with black but never got around to it...seats some normal signs of wear. Stock radio and some half blown rockford fosgate door speakers..they pop and crack under loud heavy bass. Have some very very nice Clif Designs 5x7's right here...again waiting for install lol. Steering wheel shows some wear on the top edge of it from sun and what not. Back seats in great shape.
Im asking 4500 obo or trade. Need a 2dr or 4dr suv v6 or v8. Im a ford guy but hey we'll see....or a Ex.cab pickup with a shortbed.
I guess thats about all,ill post the pics i have with more detailed ones coming when the weather clears up.
