What ATF to use??

I am getting ready to do a tranny service on my F-350 powerstroke, and am unsure as of what ATF to use, Ford recommends mercronIII, but i am thinking that maybe someone has some better blend or type of ATF that would be better from the tranny.. any comments are a help. thanks fellas..

I put redline oils ATF in my 3650

I used the Redline D4 ATF but im not exactly sure which one you would use. it looks like you could use either the D4 ATF or the Synthetic ATF.
