? on flywheels for Bob or Mike

Can you use a flywheel off of a 2.3T Merkur on an 87 TC motor with TC starter? My Dad just wants to make sure it will work before he buys it.

Also I was wondering if the flywheel and starter off of my 1991 NA2.3 will work on my 86 TC motor??

i haven't heard that the n/a 2.3 stuff is any different than the turbo parts so my guess is that it would work.

As best I know, they are the same. The only reason I hesitate on the Merkur stuff is that they use the T-9 transmission. I looked it up for cheapo replacements, and get this....

He should be good to go acording to that and what I remember. I know the NA and turbo ones interchange (scares me )

You starter will be fine, same deal across the board. An upgrade would be the Ranger mini starters, I havent tried one, but have been meaning to grab one to play with.

Not sure yet on the years Shaun, its also not as straightforward as just the starter, you need the solenoid and some other bits (wiring). I need to look at one and figure it out myself, I geuss its work about 10 pounds, and its a reduction starter. Its a good excuse to get me back to a junkyard too ;)
